Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970No device is perfect, and it really depends on what you want from your mobile. The N97 has more features and can do more - there's really NOTHING that the iphone can do that the N97 can't. Where I think the iphone beats the N97: overall user experience and user friendliness, it's faster, superior native web browser, better app store. If you want something a bit more straightforward and easy to get the hang of, then I'd suggest iphone. But if you want the ultimate feature-packed phone then go with the N97. It might take a little bit longer to get used to, but IMO once you get the hang of it, it lets you do so much more. And the latest firmware has stabilised the device, and sped it up. For me, the keyboard (a necessity for me), full bluetooth support, multitasking, and being able to customise the N97 are the main reasons why I chose it over the iphone.
my nokia n97 keeps getting a system error when i try to change the time or set an alarm. Any remedies?
can anyone suggest a free email app that supports the free version of yahoo mail? the native email client and others like emoze only support yahoo mail plus, which you have to pay for. I am currently using nokia messaging and it's good but its inability to use the e drive is big downside. Thanks in advance.
Nokia N97 sucks badly. I have been a user of Nokia 7710, 9300 and now Nokia N97. This phone is a waste of money. I have hard reset my phones thrice now. It just is a stupid creation. It hangs on start up after u get 184.108.40.206 F/W in it. I do not know Nokia charges 30,000 INR for this phone and they sell pathetic plastic boxes. I am and would really suggest everyone to stay away from Nokia and its phone. I have finally given up hard reseting it and then restoring it.
could anyone please help me is it wise for me to trade in this phone and change it for blackberry 9000 bold??
If u guys are watchin 2 by one of the most wonderfull phone in the world my recommendation is this perfect device because it is just like my computer and only thing that i doubt is the data transfer speeds but let me till it in dis way if u are a big businessman i recommend the n900 or the e72 but if u want style and every thing including anything this is it so if you are a teenager just like me i recommend this and by the way i was using the iPhone 3gs and this is way more cooler than it but it is not that user friendly
I am afraid that my this phone will hang after few days of use !!!
it is great in the paper
It is great.
Very good and good facilities for people.
I want to recommend it for everyone that wants to buy mobile phone.
It is realy realy realy great.!!!!!!
The system hanged within one week of purchase and then got it repaid and now the system appears to be slow. I would not recommend for any one to purchase this model.
Can i have super mario on this phone ? Any other good old games i can installed ?
if yes them how to do it
Can anyone recommend a FREE email app for this phone that supports the free version of Yahoo Mail? I'm currently using Nokia Messaging and while it works well, the fact that you can only use phone memory and not mass memory is a huge downside. Other email clients like emoze and even the phone's native email client doesn't support free yahoo mail, only yahoo mail plus. What can I say, I'm cheap. Thanks.
Pnoy in US, 21 Nov 2009yeah, update the FW is the first thing im gonna do once i received my phone. Do you really ... moreMany people seem to say that hard-resetting will improve the performance of the phone, though it's a bit unclear exactly why. But one thing that a hard reset will do is restore c drive memory - after the hard reset you will probably end up with 40-50mb. Nokia for some reason had the bone-headed idea to only put about 80mb on c drive! I would also recommend when you receive your phone to uninstall the apps that can be removed from the phone (eg accuweather, facebook app) and reinstall them on e drive. Just make sure that the app can be found on the net somewhere (ovi store or somewhere else) before you delete it. There are other tips to recover c memory, just google it.

For me, it's gonna be either N86, E79 or N900. I'm gonna definitely pass on N97. N97 is the successor of N96. Both are epic failures. N97's hardware flaws, the poor GPS and camera lens scratching, and it's shortcomings and software glitches, very insufficient RAM and phone memory, underpowered processor and the buggiest software ever since the N97, for a flagship device are unforgivable!
tdqgn, 22 Nov 2009v10 is painfully slow v12 ispeed is acceptable v20 have not tried yetV20 is more buggy than v12.
n97 fan, 21 Nov 2009Is there anyone who has not experienced camera lens scratch or if the lens scratch is avoidabl... moreI've had the phone for almost 2 months and i haven't had problems with camera lens scratch. However, i haven't taken that many photos, maybe only 50... As far as i am aware, if you take your phone to a nokia care point centre, they will replace lens for free as nokia have acknowledged this design flaw. I wouldn't recommend removing the lens cover because if you try to alter the phone it might void the warranty. Go to nokia first.
