You can only answer calls using the "slide to answer" function. Apparently this is so you cannot accidentally answer calls (e.g. when the phone is in your pocket). Please correct me if I'm wrong.

never heard about free alternative of office apps
office suite is another paid app for s60v5!
I was just wondering if there is a FREE (wishful thinking, I know) app for managing office documents? It's disappointing that Nokia didn't include the full version of Quickoffice on this phone. Is there a free alternative out there?
Lor, 15 Nov 2009Can anyone please talk about the phone's web browser? How do you find navigating web sites? Is... moreIn comparison to the iphone, the web browser of the n97 is a bit slower, and the overall experience is not as smooth or polished as the iphone. I find that the sidebar (which is on the right hand side) is too wide and eats up too much of the page, however it does disappear when the screen is idle (after a few seconds), and you get it back by tapping on the bottom right hand corner. Websites often do take a while to load, and what I find most frustrating is that you can't scroll through a page until the whole page has loaded (though you can start to watch videos). Also, pressing "back" reloads the entire page again, which can be particularly irritating if you're on a limited data plan. You can save images from web sites onto the phone, and Youtube videos actually load very quickly (I actually think it loads vids faster than the iphone). But I would definitely recommend that you get another browser (eg Skyfire, Opera). I use Opera Mobile myself, and do most of my web browsing on it. I only use the native browser for downloading files (which is actually quite fast), saving images and youtube.
Can anyone please talk about the phone's web browser? How do you find navigating web sites? Is it fast/slow? Can you save pictures from websites on to your phone? How does it compare to the experience of the Safari browser on the iphone? If I get this phone, would you recommend getting another browser, or will the native browser suffice? Thanks
N, 15 Nov 2009If you want better phone. You can choose N900 (king of multitasking)I was going to wait for the N900, but ended up getting the N97 a few weeks ago - the lack of apps (for the moment) for the N900 ended up being a deal breaker; I enjoy having fun with apps, even if many of them are rather useless. Also, the fact that portrait mode isn't really supported on the N900 (except in calling mode) is a bit of a turn off... the ergonomics of the N97 is great - it fits nicely using one or two hands. I don't regret getting the N97 - I think the N900 probably would have been too powerful a phone for my needs; I'm not a power user and don't have an unlimited data plan with my carrier so the N97 is perfect for me.
n97, 15 Nov 2009is the speed of n97 slow because it has a big memory? and is the phone a good choice to buy as... moreThe recent firmware update has really improved the speed; the phone is faster and handles better. I really don't experience any lag, even when i have 3 or 4 apps running at the same time. I find that the slowest thing on the phone is the music player - when i open this i usually have to wait a couple of seconds, but other apps open instantly.
l0l, watch this, it's an extended version =))))
