yZ, 16 Oct 2009Sorry peeps.. Help me decide which phone to choose.. Im so damn confuse.. Iphone 3gs or nokia ... moreHi...
I am now using both N97 and iphone 32GB 3GS....from my opinion, iphone is better than N97 in term of entertaining. Iphone is great with movie player and great application....open application is very smooth and user friendly. It has a very nice interface. For example, if you have facebook on N97 and Facebook app on iphone...facebook iphone is alot better...it design much better and more functionality. Bloomberg in iphone is great...has more information and smooth when u open it...N97 is not that great..it has only basic information...but N97 is great for business...u can send file or photo over bluetooth wich iphone cannt do...u can use ur phone as mass storage device...so in conclusion it depend on what do u need a phone for...for business i guess Nokia N97 should be fine...if u want play fun and abit of business ..iphone is the best...keep in mind iphone app is the best...even nokia release ovi store...i dont think it is that great...i try it and nth much in there....hope it help

Hi, I am also using nimbuzz a lot and as ur n97 does lats about 36 hours mine lasts the same as well.
If you keep more than 2 app open battery could end within 26 hours.
The best my phone lasted was on heavy use was 36 hours, the least 26hours.
Im happy with this phone for now, 3 weeks now, but the I've lost the excitement feel, doesn't usually happen this fast when I buy a new cell.
All I can say is, this is the best cell for me right now and I wont trade it for any other cell.
1more thing, After using the n97, I have decided, I'll never buy a cell without qwerty keyboard, if you can text really fast trying using qwerty keyboard u will be 3 times faster!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in my opinion you shouldn't buy n97..coz nokia is nt developing the phones technically..they are only releasing phones of better quality and more features..so the feautures ur findin in n97 is also there in other nokia sets too..
N97's battery life is okay only. It's not as long-lasting as I expected.
Normal usage (call, frequent sms, music, mild surfing, 1-2 apps on the background) can last me about 3 days.
Once you activate certain apps it will deplete pretty fast. Depends on which apps you run. I was using nimbuzz app for heavy chatting and it can last me a day n a half only.
N97's battery is built for constant re-charging I read. So it's best to charge your phone every day while sitting down doing your work. Via USB or Charger adapter. Charger will keep it charged faster.
anybody has the alarm problem as mine? It rings 1 or 2 and sometimes 3 or even 5 minutes later my setting time. It is a nuisance!
Reset many times and yet the same problem occurs. Update to firmware 2 did not amend the situation. I think Nokia has to fix this bug, definitely a bug in the software.
Sorry peeps.. Help me decide which phone to choose.. Im so damn confuse.. Iphone 3gs or nokia n97? Thank you
hi, had the Nokia N97 about two weeks now.
please see some more examples of this phones quality here
I have been using the N97 for about 2 months. It is phenomenal. Multitaking and qwerty keyboard are its best features although i enjoy the media and web features. Firmware upgrade to v20 will make the N97 the iphone killer. Highly recommend it
ames, 15 Oct 2009hi everyone, thanks for all the answer.. i think i'll definetly buy the nokia n97.. no offence... moreI don't think you'll regret your decision. It's a great device. And as for the N900, yes it does look like a brick doesn't it? I guess it's because Nokia is calling it an internet tablet rather than a smartphone.
hi everyone, thanks for all the answer.. i think i'll definetly buy the nokia n97.. no offence but i think the n900 looks ugly. The n97 still looks good. :)
I have Nokia N97 & i need acrobat reader full version software for my phone.
Pls suggest me any site
i've had this phone for almost 2 months now, and i've experienced almost none of the common problems that others have had (eg bugs, lagging). i highly recommend this phone, it is a true mobile computer. the main thing that i would want improved is the RAM to speed the phone up a bit. and the apple v nokia posts are really getting old...yes everyone knows that the iphone is the king of the smartphones, it's a great handset in its own right. but there are other phones out there because - shock horror - not everyone's needs are met by the iphone.
ames, 15 Oct 2009hi winura, coulsd you pls tell me everything bout n97. For example battery life, sound quality... moreAmes,
The batter of the N97 is quite good. I find it marginally better than iphone 3g (not sure about 3gs).
As for lagging - on the most recent firmware (v12) it doesn't lag that much. The phone is able to multitask (whereas the iphone doesn't really do that), which of course, depending on how many things you're doing at once, might slow the phone down. In my experience when I have 2-3 web pages open, music player in the background, and chatting to 2-3 people over Nimbuzz, and maybe receive a call while I'm doing the above, the phone handles it very well and I don't get any lag. If you do a lot more multitasking than this, then you probably will (best wait for the N900 maybe - looks like it was built for multitasking!).
I've had the N97 for approximately 3 weeks now and cannot understand the following:
Ovi Suite works nicely, however, when I drag a mp4 movie across, it converts it to avi format which it should. i can understand that it will take appx 1.3hours to convert. it converts the file and it shows on my phone as downloaded file, under videos. i play the movie, and the quality is ok, but for some apparent reason, the movie just dissapears off my phone some hours later. i try to locate the file through my pc in mass storage and cannot find it anywhere, and when i disconnect and want to delete the file through the phone, it tells me : "general:in use". i thought this was an isolated incident, but its happening all the time. - its taking up space on the phone, but its not showing. a friend of mine has this problem on 5800 music express as well. can any one help - and btw, i have downloaded all latest software updates from nokia. thanks. adam
