this is one of the best phone which has lastest tech. with everything online..however, fter using this from last couple of months i think there must be few things which shul'dnt be online like..wheather check application, NDTV, and couple fo more as well..i'll rate thie 9/10..excellent picture quality ..video quality..though music shuldn't be so impressive ...but its with every model of nokia..nokia shul work upon their music only to be at best place in market..
Does anyone know how to turn the volume higher. I turn it to maximum but still too little... Any code to change??? Thanks
WinMo & Symbian? Depends what you want. For example, if we're comparing X1 & N97 (which I have used both extensively), X1 has smaller screen but the resolution is noticeably better! N97 falls terribly in its screen resolution (for its price, it's quite appauling).
WinMo has its ups & downs, though I would say more downs. The UI is still difficult, fiddly & definitely not user friendly compared to Symbian, a quicker, more responsive & somewhat simpler smartphone OS. There are of course more applications & (fUN) available to WinMo phones, but if you're someone who's looking for simple, quick way to manage your hectic lifestyle & not worry about, pressing wrong buttons or having to wait for unnecessary lags, then Symbian is indeed the one to go for. To be honest, you should try both out before you decide which to buy or to keep for long, but generally, WinMo has a long way to go before it can stand up to the efficiency of a Symbian mobile.
What?? r u on a dillema? between WinMo and Symbian? of course Symbian dude! Dont even mention it
purple, 13 Sep 2009need opinion... i don't know... which to decide?? either nokia n97 or sony xperia x1... please... moredude i have both phones...xperia as vel as n97....i kinda liked 97 coz of better sound, camera and vel spaced keyboard....but kinda disliked symbian os...wud hav been better with win mob
N97 sucks. A phone with lots of software bugs. Even Nokia Care center owner agreed. If you have more then 3 regulars apps open in back ground. like contact finder, speed dial etc, it will hang or will be very sluggish. Look for better optin with higher precessing speeds.
Guys, i had such a very very bad experience with this N97 phone i just bought last August 19th 2009 when I traded it with my Nokia 6500 slide. I found this phone to have a very stupid software in it when i tried to take pictures and deleted them, icons of broken pic appear beforehand. Having tried to get rid of them, a "General System Error" appears. I tried resetting the phone to factory settings, still the problem recurs. I decided to return the phone to the store and took back my 6500 slide, I was charged more than 10% of the retail price of N97!!! There are more other shortcomings Nokia N97 have, just like very poor phonebook features, a very poor calculator, poor text messaging indicator that do not display the number of the source,& a very stupid music player that cannot normally play AAC at 96kbps, plus very poor speakers sounding like music playback inside a tin can! Also, the phone is somewhat slow. Truly unreliable, only with a nice eye-candy design but worthless! I will never recommend this to anyone before they lose some money out of this crap.
hahaha what a phone even 5530 has kinetic scrol which this doesnt have......
Abel, 13 Sep 2009I have been using the N97 for a while now. Here is what I thought. the camera is great, music ... moreHi Apel.
i liked ur review. But the thing is, from a DECENT phone (not perfect) u expect it working a bit fast and no freezings etc when u put it out of the box.yes? but N97 cant give this, why should i CLOSE DOWN APPLICATIONS OR REMOVE THEM FROM THE PHONE TO MAKE THE PHONE WORKING not even DECENT hu?
need opinion... i don't know... which to decide?? either nokia n97 or sony xperia x1... please do help me... tq
I have been using the N97 for a while now. Here is what I thought. the camera is great, music experience is also wonderful. people often complain about browsing experience but i love it. You just have to know your way in and way out pf that. The phone was slow when i first got it but i moved all the apps from the phone memory to the mass memory. Now it's faster than ever. And what surprised me was that I used to think the Iphone was way faster before i used this phonne and when i went back to my friend's iphone to play with it, it was slower. I am not making this up. If anyone wants to buy this, i strongly recommend it. The update that's coming up this october will once again make the N97 one of the best smartphones.
