I have a scratch too on my lense. When I take pictures in daylight I get good quality picture. When I take pictures inside the whole left side of the picture is "blurry/grey", most likely because the flash light bleed into the camera lense through the scratch. I also have stability problems with the n97, causing it to shut down/restart all the time and I am giving it to my vendor for second repair today. (I guess I do not have to say that I am quite dissapointed with this purchase?)
4 weeks old and mine has multiple scratches, simple problem the plastic is smooth on the top where your finger goes but rough and unfinished on the underside, bet the pre production N97s were hand finished to remove and roughness under the lens cover, a stupid mistake, as they proved with the N95 8Gb that a lens cover was not needed, mine is 18 months old and in perfect condition, yet it's new N97 i got to replace it has a scratched lens.

This phone is terrible. The lens are scratched because of the cover. Wasted $1800 NZD . There are slowly scratches emerging between the LED and the camera opening. I hope it dosent go on the camera lense. This is a serious mistake of Nokia and a disagrace to Nokia's quality. They should replace all our back covers. .. Very shameful product in market without testing.
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2009nothing wrong with that problem its a multi-task phone...just like a computer it wont close... moreSo used to my n95, stop play and so on.How do you activate flip to silent or make the screen spin.
This phone really super expensive... Does anyone own this and is it worth it or not because their are mini laptops that costs lesser than this phone..
N97 makes me upset...
please dont mind Nokia fans, see why i am i saying this.
The Camera Lens getting scratches by sliding cover. i called Nokia care center, they said they will fix it. but i dont like to use the repaired one, i never use in my life.
Otherwise N97 is superb excluding this measure problem.

One thing that doesnt make sense to me. No way to stop music unless you press options then exit.Only pause play rewind or previous,forward or next.Same as iphone.

hey does anyone knows if nokia n97 does come in brown or not? cuz i heard that nokia n97 make brown n97 only for asia like china, vietnam, japan around asian area i think. I was just wondering is this true? does nokia n97 make brown only in asia area? or it doesn't make brown at all?
i'm going to buy nokia n97...i need your advice friend...should i buy his phone or not...
Just a few little improvements (multiple homescreens for flagship devices, kinetic scrolling in contacts/menus, copy&paste in browser, nice looking icons) could preserve them from losing so much marketshare and i don't think this is too much to ask for.
I just got the n97 nam in white.I love this phone so far.I know it has a few issues that can be resolved with ver 11.
I thought the nam came with ver 11 in it.Oh well,not to worry.
Once i get to know it better I'll give my own review.
I've got free garmin navigation on it.
cocacola, 02 Aug 2009how about this projecter phone... Nice!!
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i7410-2698.phpIts nice but no wi fi and video is qvga @15fps.Plus no GPS.They dont want to give everything thing away in 1 phone.
But tri band.Thats no good.Not a world wide phone.
how about this projecter phone... Nice!!
I read it on Omnia HD section, and transport it here.
doesn't mean to offend but the difference can't be much clearer..
I don't care about isheep a bit though they're trolling here often.
But Nokia needs to do something MUCH better and time is running out for you NOKIA!!
I had the N97 and now I have the Omnia HD.
N97 = 128
OMNIA HD = 256
N97 = 434 MHz processor (no graphics acceleration)
OMNIA HD = 600 MHz processor and graphics accelerator
N97 = 5 Mega pixels
OMNIA HD = 8 Megapixels
N97 = D1 Video 30 FPS
OMNIA HD = HD Video 20- 24 FPS
The N97 is a good phone, but the OMNIA HD is just in a class of its own. The video is not true HD but it really is about 2 times better than the Video on the N97.
Also the faster CPU and built in graphics accelerator make the OMNIA HD much faster than the N97.
The OMNIA HD also has 2 times the RAM of the N97.
They both run Symbian 5th edition, but it's a shame, because the OMNIA HD is capable of running something much more powerful. I hope they bring out some better apps for the OMNIA HD.
