derrick, 26 Jul 2009hi! i just bought this phone this friday and i love it. however i do not know what video forma... morederrik go to messages - options - settings - and change the memory to mass memory instead of phone memory. This will work...
By the way im writting this with my N97, this phone is outstanding.
no Doubts at all.
I wonder how difficult it would be to replace the ram chip on the phone. It would be really cool if nokia would allow customers to send in their phones and upgrade the ram chip to 256 or maybe 512. Even if the processor is a bit slow, rame would make loading times etc faster.
People with rogers or fido(same thing pretty much)who have the iphone3gs are complaining not only to rogers but also to apple about dropped calls. It seems they have to turn off 3g and go on edge to solve the problem of dropped calls on the iphone3gs.

Stick with nokia people.
Nokia phones are always known for good reception. Maybe this guy in this video should be using a nokia instead of an iphone. No reception with at&t anywhere in sandusky, ohio.
Check out what he says at 8:00 in this video.

The Canadian launch of the iPhone 3GS has been a tremendous success. As such, Fido has experienced high demand and has sold out of the iPhone 3GS in the vast majority of cities across the country at this time. New shipments of the iPhone 3GS will be available in the coming weeks and back orders will be filled on a priority basis. Customers wishing to purchase the iPhone 3GS are invited to check back online or with local Fido stores regularly for further details. Many launch promotions will continue to run until July 31, 2009.
Now before I start, please let me explain, I have now owned my N97 for several weeks, and it still continues to impress me each and every day with what it’s capable of. There are many articles around the web which unfairly criticize the N97 in every way, some even saying it’s doomed, or this is the end of the road for Nokia.
Well let me start by saying, the N97 is an amazing device, and pushes boundaries where no Nokia Flagship has been before, combining that lovely 3.5” touch screen, and mini slide out QWERTY keyboard, the N97 is for the connected user, be it checking your emails, or how your friends are doing, and where they are using Facebook. Sharing your photos, and videos with the pre-installed applications such as QIK, and ShoZu.
Now while talking about pre-installed applications on the N97, I and many other N97 owners have discovered that many of these have unwittingly been installed onto the phone memory, reduces the N97 resources. These can be moved, and reinstalled onto Mass memory, clearing up, and regaining some of that valuable phone memory. To do this, you will need to start over with your N97 by resetting it, and formatting the mass memory. If you decide to do this, be sure to source all the existing pre-installed applications you wish to keep first, so you can download a fresh, and install to Mass memory.
Most of these applications are now available via the Ovi Store, but ensure your Ovi Store installation settings are set to install to Mass Memory first. You can change this setting by launching Ovi Store, click “Options”, select “Account”, then “Settings”, and finally select “Installation Preferences”. There you will see two locations, one for “Applications and Games should be installed to”, and the second, “Images and videos should be downloaded to”. Ensure both of these are set to E: Drive, which is your Mass memory.
Back to the purpose of this article. The video below, shows the N97 compared to other NSeries handsets, the N95-1 & 2, and the N82, showing the vast differences in the RAM and Phone Memory between devices. The N97 if used heavily will eventually crash due to running out of RAM. Why Nokia chose to fit only 128MB of RAM in this new Nokia Flagship device is beyond me, and one has to wonder if compromises were made with the build, and components used for the N97.
The low amount of RAM, and the recent issue that has risen regarding the main camera glass being scratched by the very thing that is meant to protect it, are the only two things I am unhappy about with my N97, however, let me reassure you, I am still more than happy with what the N97 still has to offer, and as mentioned earlier, it still surprises me each day I use it. If you are a Power Users, or Business User, then you will suffer with this device, it is not aimed at these markets, but at a social media connecting type of user, like me, and many others.
I do hope Nokia announce a similar build device at Nokia World this September, with the same form-factor, but which both a more powerful processor and more RAM. Then, we will be talking about a Nokia device perfect for the Power Users and Business Users amongst us.
This phone is very powerful but you know that some cellphone online retailers does not give importance to it bcoz even i8910 and i800 is way big expensive so its unfair for nokia bcoz they really add a lot of features on this fone then they will just not give importance.ex.i8910 is more expensive than n97 and also i800

That model is the only one 12MP smartphone. If you want to buy now the phone, if you need a phone with a big internal memory, choose the N97, but the phone will be slow when you will put a lot of music, and films. Choose the X1, this is my opinion.

cocacola, 26 Jul 2009what I want for next flagship are capacitive screen, 600MHz processor, 256MB RAM, office edito... moreLooks like you will have to wait a few years judging by the latest Nokia lineup. Personally I think they have lost their touch! This phone is outdated, they shouldn't have waited so long to release it. I'm sure in a few years when their X and C series see the light they will be able to keep up with the others.
IMO this phone needed Android to stay competetive, until the new Symbian comes out that is
cocacola, 26 Jul 2009what I want for next flagship are capacitive screen, 600MHz processor, 256MB RAM, office edito... moreWhat you ask for is what I ask for the next flagship
600mhz 256 ram capacitive. Precise flick scroll and xenon
change the Len cover design, lock slider and bigger battery power!
I am happy with the above
the keyboard is ok for me, how about making it bigger?
