Apple has not been awarded this patent yet, so Symbian, MS, Android and all the other truel OS manufacturers are free to use it to their heart's content. We be pinching away at them pics...

It took a couple of days for this to surface, but it looks like Apple was awarded yet another patent last week – a big one. Awarded on January 20th, the company scored patent number 7,479,949, which was applied for on April 18th of last year. The patent covers multi-touch functionality like pinch, rotation, and swipe.
World of Apple has the text from the patent titled "Touch screen device, method, and graphical user interface for determining commands by applying heuristics."
A computer-implemented method for use in conjunction with a computing device with a touch screen display comprises: detecting one or more finger contacts with the touch screen display, applying one or more heuristics to the one or more finger contacts to determine a command for the device, and processing the command. The one or more heuristics comprise: a heuristic for determining that the one or more finger contacts correspond to a one-dimensional vertical screen scrolling command, a heuristic for determining that the one or more finger contacts correspond to a two-dimensional screen translation command, and a heuristic for determining that the one or more finger contacts correspond to a command to transition from displaying a respective item in a set of items to displaying a next item in the set of items.
So, before you laugh document yourself !

You really this naive? Nothing is new or proprietary. Maybe Samsung can sue all cellpone makers for placing anything above a 8MP camera in their phones.
Come on people - get real.
Nan, 06 Jul 2009Satio's better everyone is just in denial.Silly! That's a camera phone! It's in a completely different market to N series. It's got a good camera and thats it

New Flex 35 (18months) - Upgrade £101.
After looking further down this thread it seems that Voda and Orange upgrades are free!!!
Since I have been with them now for 7yrs i am not pleased + i was told my ££ towards my upgrade was the highest and would still be the same price going to flex 40.
So not the best of deals plus Tmob firmware, but i have a 7day period to return if not happy.
Anyways I hope this helps.
Can anyone confirm that multitouch is supported with the latest firmware upgrade?
I am getting mine next week hopefully.
