Hello to everyone,I just got my nokia N97 black and I must say it is worth the wait after 6mths since Dec 08 last year.Up close the n97 is small and light even at 150g.The new OS Symbian s60 5th edition is very good and it will take sometimes for everyone to get use to it.I don't have any problem with qwerty keyboard which is very nice and smooth to type.I have to admit it is not like iphone, but the resistive touch is very responsive with haptic feedback.I am frm Singapore and we are having the PC Show at Suntec City and 1st day of launch all sold out.Almost all N97 are pre ordered and all the black ones are sold out.Now I am waiting for new firmware updates.
Hmm... Great phone. But why the camera is only 5 Megapixel? To be a top phone, need inprovement in camera also. You need look to Sony Ericsson! 8 MP and 12.1 MP camera! Don't just wandering in software world. Make other touchscreen phone with Nokia N82 Camera quality and Xenon Flash! Don't only 2 phones. The Camera lovers will sad including me when you not make a great touchscreen camera phone. I hope you can clear your problem in camera quality of touchscreen phone to be a great! not good only! Success, Nokia. All you have done is great in N97 even the camera isn't in full perfomance because only use Dual LED.
Anonymous, 13 Jun 2009I love the * sound of silence * by Simon and Garfunkel beautiful song......Sound of silence by simon and garfunkel. The iphone 3g has the sound of silence. You can hardly hear the "loudspeaker" or music player.

Man… this is a tough area. Some people are going to viciously attack us for saying ... moreN97 has a poor resitive touchscreen. WRONG. Everything you posted there should have been in Quotations.
You copied it word for word from Google. I saw the same thing on google. I've never seen a strange weave in the you tube video showing the n97.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970That same boring design 3 times over, not to mention crummy camera with no flash, no voice guidance for the gps, loudspeaker you can hardly hear. No improvement on the screen res.

Thursday, 01 November 2007
Over the coming months, Swisscom will massively expand its mobile data network, in a series of stages. From mid- November, Swisscom customers will be able to take advantage of much higher speeds - up to 7.2 Mbps for receiving and up to 1.4 Mbps for sending data - thanks to HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology. In a second stage, the HSPA network will be expanded to provide coverage to 70 per cent of Switzerland's population by the end of the year. Stage three will see HSPA becoming available on the entire UMTS network from mid-2008, extending coverage to 90 per cent of the population. By mid-2008, Swisscom will have invested tens of millions of francs in its mobile broadband network.
Currently, Swisscom already supplies 45 per cent of the Swiss population with HSPA. By the end of the year, coverage will have increased to 70 per cent. Thanks to further expansion, HSPA will be available on the entire UMTS network from the end of June 2008, giving Swisscom customers almost everywhere ultra high-speed mobile access to the Internet, e-mails or company data.

Sorry I prefer to be connected with 3G at 7,2 MBs but not in Ontario Canada, a very civilized place by the way but not as evolved as Switzerland where I get full 3G in any tunnel under the Alps as well as FREE PUBLIC WI FI in most metropolitan areas.

If you buy an unlocked phone you can find enough free wi fi at least here in ontario or toronto to be more specific. You just don't have internet access all the time but it works out to be a lot cheaper.
Buy an iphone3g with rogers for say 150.00 on a 3 year contract at 30 dollars a month in data charges only then your voice plan on top of it. 30 x 36 months plus 150 = $1230.00.
As opposed to an unlocked iphone 3g for maybe 750 or 800 and use free wi fi once you find it.
So you're looking at a differance of $400.00 dollars. Understand now. Maybe in your country free wi fi is not available.
