Anonymous, 27 May 2009Heard a rumour Nokia is planning an upgraded N97 launch with upgraded CPU and 7.2 HSDPA in December. You are wrong the N97 upgrade will come in 2017
This is my only option..
I have a N82, and
It is a logical step.
I think the N97 is really a change, an evolution
Anonymous, 27 May 2009you said it right. alot of phones better will come out this year, including the new iphone, a ... morewhat do you mean by "by the time it's out". It already is out in the market in some parts of the world.
So you keep waiting for iphone, htc, samsung or whatever company.
its available - for 2 rupees 50 paise in india!
from 2009 feburary
Mizuchi, 27 May 2009I had a LOT of problems with the slide out
Never Nokia again
Going for the new Iphone out in... moreyou said it right. alot of phones better will come out this year, including the new iphone, a new blackberry storm, new samsung HD, and new HTCs..
by the time this is out in the market other competitors will be out also, with better specs. so why waste big for this n97 if you know you'll get beaten by other phones coming out this year.LOL
Tom, 27 May 2009Are you serious dude? You're telling me that'd you rather change your grip from one you can ty... more(contd...)But while typing, as you mentioned, we will need the dpad and it is there when the slide is out. Also one would prefer keys and dpad both for gaming and thats what u get whn the slide is out.
That is what i meant by rightly placed dpad which would have otherwise taken up screen space.
And secondly, i own a 5800 and not an iphone as you figured out with ur imm@tture mind. I know better than u that i rarely miss my dpad for navigation and miss it heavily for gaming.
Tom, 27 May 2009Are you serious dude? You're telling me that'd you rather change your grip from one you can ty... moreBrilliant.....you have no idea what i meant, and you call yourself an adult. May be in your country adult hood starts from 6months.
I said for example, in a long list, say 500songs and your song is somewhere in between, you can directly scroll to that place with the scrollbar rather than going one song step by step with the dpad. Also frequently you come across lists where the option you want is 4th or 5th. Thats when u can directly tap on the option u want.
Heard a rumour Nokia is planning an upgraded N97 launch with upgraded CPU and 7.2 HSDPA in December.
Killersmith, 27 May 2009dpad????
guys, its a touchscreen, theres no other better way to navigate than to directly tap... moreAre you serious dude? You're telling me that'd you rather change your grip from one you can type with, then drag your hand about all over the screen, then change your grip back to typing mode rather than see the benfit of the D-pad?
I recon you should stick with your I-phone and let the adults chat about this amazing bit of tech.
Shan, 27 May 2009Should improve HSDPA upto 7.2 . 3.6 is old technology. Camera should be improved to 8 MP.... i agree
ya n97 got almost everey thing you find in your handset yet it not compared with ifone
guys, its a touchscreen, theres no other better way to navigate than to directly tap on the thing you want, or tap on the scrollbar to navigate through long menus. Who needs a dpad for that with a touch screen. Look at the 5800 or the iphone. The dpad of n97 is rightly placed for gaming.(though it would be better on the right hand side)
And about the china thing, all chinese fones go through the same quality tests. Unless it's a NOKLA, lol.
Just to inform, my 5800is china made and i never had the screen or earpiece probs that others had.
meng, 27 May 2009hi i want to ask you n97 the price around 1200$.thanks699$

meng, 27 May 2009hi i want to ask you n97 the price around 1200$.thankswell yes released yasterday for 1244$ in hongkong u can order it from ipmart.com for that price
Fonebox.com, 27 May 2009I may be wrong, but if the N97 had a) A slightly higher resolution OMLED display b) HD (702P) ... moreI agree with all that you said, except for one thing, the d-pad, I think it's great to have the d-pad where it is, because anywhere else it takes up screen real estate, the FIRST thing you notice about this phone (and other flagship phones) is the size of the screen.
i think a higher res camera (video and still) would be great, with xenon, but I will not judge it until I have a go, as I am aware that resolution is not everything.
Couldn't agree more with thescreen though, and multi touch support would have been awesome, even still, I think this phone is the pick of the bunch and will definately be my next.
