This phone is absolutely the best by far, i dont know why some peps are having bad opinions for this phone when its not out yet, im sure nokia will have a best seller here.....
I tough this whas a god like phone , but when i read that the cpu is that low clocked i changed my mind . its a good concept but they needed to put an better cpu in t becous this aint working -_-''
New iphone , Samsung HD , SE IDOU ??
( YES I KNOW MY ENGLISH FAILTS )
Actually am not all that dissapointed about the cpu, lets face it, it has a 434mhz cpu. So what! As far as it runs smooth am satisfied. Do you guys think the folks at Nokia aren't aware of the competition? Who knows if the code behind the n97's version of s60 5th is so optimized that anything more than 450mhz would be an overkill. You know 6 months is enough time to pimp the heck of that s60 5th code and rumours that the 5800 would be getting the n97's UI via firmware upgrade, solidifies this assumption even more.
So before we make any decisions, lets wait until we see a review of the actual retail unit. If it is able to handle ngage and multi-tasking flawlessly, then i don't see any reason for a more powerfull cpu, that will do nothing else but bump up the price. If Nokia succeeds on this front then, it would be considered an innovation rather than a dissapointment. It would also mean a new milestone for the symbian os As a clean, blotware free, optimized os. Am really suprised at you guys reactions. It would take more than an under powered cpu to seperate me from my next upgrade. Just my 2 cents. But i really think we should hold our judgements for the retail version of the N97. Am still getting one though.
HAHAHAHA!! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT!!!!!
to all nokia dreamers who says this phone is the best!
and its faster, better that any mobile!! well, where are you all now???!! hiding after a shameful processor specs!!! hahahaha!! the processor is a big dissapointment!!!!! after waiting and waiting and waiting, and saying great things and rumors, this is all you got???!! hahaha!! where are all the rumors youve been saying about this phone!!!!??? hahaha!! you are all a shame at yourself!!! youve been let down by your very own nokia!!! hahahaha!!!!! you guys are all so pitiful!!! and funny too!!!! hahahahaha!!!
Ashkan, 28 Apr 2009http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N97
http://www.for... moreIt's like a computer a faster CPU means it can do more things and do them faster.
Things like HD video, faster zooming of webpages and photo's etc.
It also let's you use more powerful applications like the ones the iPhone is capable of running.
Vinnlim, 28 Apr 2009very very very disapointing, cos the spec on the cpu CPU Count Single CPU CPU Type ARM ... moreIt's a good thing Apple underclocked it's 679MHz ARM 11 CPU or we'd never hear the end of it.
how the speed is important in the phone???? im not very into the phones but i just wanna in which section the cpu speed is important????? sorry for the bad english :p
Anonymous, 28 Apr 2009ops, bad english, what i ment was:
"What do you mean by saying its not confirmed by Nokia?... moreI wonder what happened to the quad-core kid?
Maybe that was his picture on Symbian freak.

iolo003, 28 Apr 2009the processor isn't confirmed yet by Nokia but weither its 460mHz or less, it will still stand... moreWhat do you mean by not saying its confirmed by Nokia?
racing with nokia n97 and samsung i8910
but wich WINER
what you think??
the processor isn't confirmed yet by Nokia but weither its 460mHz or less, it will still stand performance wise having 5800 XpressMusic only having a 360mHz.
never d less, what disappoints me is the price, it is way to expensive compared to Omnia HD or Magic, TIM posted a 599 Euro tag on it when i thought would be less than 500 Euro the day before since a reputable website made mention about it.
hmmm, maybe it will change within the range of two months.. but now i'm already having second thoughts on this phone, maybe i'll go for N86 instead..
