Whatever said, everybody recognized Sony as the only one brand that makes life in this world happier. Sony gave us the Walkman, Diskman, Playstation, Betamax, Cybershot, handycam, Bravia, Wega, vaio,Trinitron, etc, etc.
BTW, SE IDOU's miniature IMX060PQ, a 1/2.5 CMOS image sensor from the Exmor series that, apparently, has the industry’s highest Megapixel count: 12.25 MP... is yet another wonder from Sony.
Sony will also commercialize "IU060F" lens module with 12.25 effective megapixel resolution equipped with lens and auto focus functions, this module is the industry's smallest and thinnest in their class.
And with the launch of "IU060F" lens module, Sony will seek to enhance the enjoyment of taking high quality images using camera enabled mobile phones.
You see, Sony do not always rely on others to manufacture their lenses. After all, Sony is an innovator, and with Ericsson as a partner, this duo is an envy of the competition.
tsk tsk i don't have enough money to buy that. how sad :(
oh well, i guess i'll go for the 5800.
Anonymous, 02 Mar 2009Yeah, just like the iPhone is a smartphone and doesn't waste resources on a camera."Waste resources"??? That is the lamest excuse I've ever heard for not fitting a $700 phone with the best that technology has to offer. For that kind of money, anything less than the latest technology is a rip off.
N97 DOES NOT need 8+MP, it just need Carl Zeiss Wide angle len, flexible aperture and xenon Flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2009The reason Nokia don't use higher resolutions is because the processors they use aren't powerf... moreAre you sure cause looks to me they could have used 8mp this whole time... But i really don't care that much for MPs 3.2 and 5 is enough for me
most 8,10,12 MP phones are gimmicks cause the phones end up being crappy cause they worked to hard on the camera
Anonymous, 03 Mar 2009nokia does not have to purt 8 or more Mega pixel to N97. they focus on the quality of camera, ... moreIs that the same Carl Zeiss they use in the 5800?
I've seen photo's from one, it musn't be very good!
Is the n97 resisrive touch screen cappable of doinh multitouch? Statum says thier software need special hardwarw:(
Geeat that googlw phone has been hacked to use multitouch pinch zoom patents by apple!!!!!!!!!
If nokia goes capacitive one day, we will hack them!!!!!!
Apple cant stop us moving forward!
N 97 Beautiful!
Iphone design is too plain, even an idiot can design it!
I have been waiting for this phone. I know that when it comes out it'll cost approx. $700! Now, I saw that this phone will be available soon, dated on March 26, 2009 from Mobile City for sale. Is that an accurate date? It seems too soon. The official release date was March 31st but got moved to June '09, so I was just wondering if anyone is aware of this (?).
Also, I might just go for the Samsung Omnia i900 for now because I don't want to buy the Nokia N97 right when it hits the market. As we all know, it'll be very pricey & also, we gotta wait 'til the real hands-on reviews from real users & what bugs the phone would have & how they'd fix it...(just being a smart buyer, I guess.)
Any info regarding the release date of this phone here in the US through website retailers such as CTI-MIAMI, CELLHUT, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Placer Animal., 03 Mar 2009If Nokia wants to be a leader in sales with this cell should sell with a better camera, hopefu... morenokia does not have to purt 8 or more Mega pixel to N97. they focus on the quality of camera, they use Carl Zeiss len. N97 is almost perfect!
i can wait till 2010. So nokia will have enough time to put Skype in it, multitouch on resistive touch screen, and flick scroll found on iphone and Google phone, and many great software develper has ported thier software.
If Nokia wants to be a leader in sales with this cell should sell with a better camera, hopefully one of 13.6 megapixels and scored a great triumph in the market and sales of mobile phones worldwide. The camera and photography is a characteristic, very, very important today in mobile phones.
