I have seen this phone, its adorable. The price will range from £450- £500. Like all new phones, you wont be able to get the phone free on contract unless you are willing to pay high monthly contract tariffs.
In comparison to the competitors- Xperia, G1, Storm; the Nokia N97 has a cutting-edge. It also comes with a digital tv reciever which nokia are working on i believe which make this phone potentially the best of 2009. With the hit of the N95, we believe the N97 would raise the standards of netbook technolgy.
Best to wait until August for those contract users, bearing in mind the high tariffs for the first 4 months upon release date.
Nokia has pushed its boundaries,, lets see what the iphone can do now to beat the N97.
[deleted post], 19 Jan 2009Would you mind explaining how Apple robs me when I can rip a CD, and make a ringtone from it w... more3 bucks for a ringtone were have you been lol and i cancelled the contract and sold the phone
Kyuubi, 19 Jan 2009I used it you noob for 3 months and this was after the app store came out ...it's not a phone... moreWould you mind explaining how Apple robs me when I can rip a CD, and make a ringtone from it which is placed into my iTunes library by a free application such as iRinger?
I can even make them manually, I use Audacity (free) to cut and edit a 30 second piece of a track, LAME free) to save as MP3, import it into iTunes and convert to AAC then copy to my desktop and change one letter in the file extension, then import it back as a ringtone.
I've got lot's of custom ringtones and I haven't paid Apple a cent, even iTunes is free.
Kyuubi, 19 Jan 2009I used it you noob for 3 months and this was after the app store came out ...it's not a phone... moreThere are now 15,000 Apps, over 500,000,000 Apps have now been downloaded.
The rest of your post is full of half baked rumours based on the iPhone 3G and US networks, we didn't have the same problem's here.
So what did you do with your iPhone contract, nub?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I used it you noob for 3 months and this was after the app store came out ...it's not a phone cause it can't keep reception ,it's not loud, apple robs you when you make ringtones, camera is crap, the ONLY good thing is the touch screen nothing else..cause it comes with nothiing
momo, 18 Jan 2009I wish the touch screen works with the heat as same as the Iphone.I hope it has automatic call volume control, like half the 5800's and the camera live's up to the 'Carl Zeiss' standards set by the 5800.
joE22, 18 Jan 2009Do you people know at all when this phone is going to come to South Africa? Is it going to be ... moreYes it worths it.5800 will be nokia's touchscreen experiment and with its low price will create a big basis of applications and extra.5800 creates the basis and N97 reaps of it.I wanted now an e series touchscreen like n97 but for now I'll settle with e71.Keep in mind that the suggested price in EU might be up to 550-599 prior taxations costs with a final price equal to n96 on its release (690-720) euros.
It'll worth it,start saving.
