have had this phone for about a week now, in black colour, i love it, haven't had any problems with it yet *touch wood* never had a touch screen phone before, so this is my first one
only thing i'm not really impressed with is the sound quality when playin music on the phone but the sound is great when playin videos and picture is clear
I am also a unhappy N97 mini user!!! Worst phone i had in years!! Its slow.. Freezes up while using it.. drops calls.. not good with signal abilities.. and the "glide over the screen " to answer a call sucks!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE!!!!! You will thank me later!

y.w.k, 28 Oct 2010this phone rock's it's better then the iphone 4!!!!!!!ya whatever man.
i don’t really like the iphone therefore i decided to go for the N97 and in the start it seemed like a good idea especially because of the 32GB of storage but after having it for a couple of weeks i was very disappointed. i even thought of selling it but because of my contract i have with my service provider i have to keep it for another 16 months.
Before my N97 i had a blackberry and i regret switching over to Nokia again. so no the N97 is not a great phone.
kakaka, 26 Oct 2010thst n97 is not that good because............... nokia company recalled it and changed it into... moreI now own an n900. It's a massive massive improvement on the n97. When i bought my n97, i took it back to the shop the same week cos it gave me problems . . and these problems never went away. The only other nokia i've had that's worse than the n97, is the n96 - it is absolute garbage! And that's bein' polite. Like my n95, my n900 doesn't throw up memory problems, or library problems and it does not slow down, or shut down. And there is plenty of ram. I think they are good value for money.
upgrade firmware... new fitur: record video in 720p... (it's my dream) hahaha... :d
My new Nokia N97 battery charge is not long lasting and it stays only for 2 to 3 hours. Kindly advice what i should do.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2010how do i transfer my nokia n 97 contacts to my pc?The question you asked has already been answered. Go back a few pages, and you will see it explained
I bought N97 in summer 2009. As far as the OS update the phone become uglier, problematic and so on. Sometimes, when a friend of me calls the OS hangs and craches until I remove the battery. Sometimes the phone restarts itself. I took it to the authorized technical service and the recent, official updates were applied. No change... Please aviod of this crappy phone that I've ever seen. I'm using nokia since 1997 however changed the brand to another in 2010...

TMT, 17 Oct 2010i have been using n97 for around 8 months..
the following problems i am facing.
1.Came... moreUnfortunately, the thing you are avoiding is the solution-namely hard formatting the phone. I had very similar problems on my E90 (136mb phone memory and 8kb free and could not even compose sms).
The culprit seems to be the Gallery, so after formatting the phone DO NOT, under any circumstances use the Gallery app. This tends to build up HUGE database files in C:/private/... which you cannot access (and hence cannot delete).
If you had image/video files in C: drive, chances are you will be having the thumbnail folders _PalbTN which occupy a lot of space but are hidden and not visible and cannot be deleted. Before formatting you can download/install Y-browser (or X-plore/ Active file) and set "view hidden files" option and look into each directory (of the C drive) and simply delete the whole thumbnail directory. This will help you clear up some space. Also, you might switch the messaging memory-in-use (Messaging-->Settings->Other->Memory in use and select Memory Card). You will get a message copy messages to Memory card? Please select Yes and all messages will get removed from phone memory. I do not know specific N97 menu but it shold be more or less like this.
Once you hard formatted your phone instead of using Gallery you can safely click on any media file in "File Manager" and see/hear it but do not use Gallery.
If you want Gallery like facility, please use Resco Viewer for images and
LCG Jukebox for music and Coreplayer can do all (image/sound/video).
This is what I have done and no problem for the past 18 months with C: drive as messaging memory-in-use.
Also, somewhere I read (on the net) that you could connect the N97 in mass memory mode via USB to a PC and view/delete the hidden _PAlbTN directories.
Also, in future always save the apps/games/themes files that you install in a separate folder so that you can always format your phone without any worry, all you will lose is time in reinstalling everything. (I think I have had to do this twice)
