vk, 29 Dec 2008dude ure so stupid. all those previous nokia touchscreens are so sad and gay most of them dont... moreYou're the one that is gay...lol.The iphone is mostly for the ladies. Most of my female friends have the iphone.
As I have said earlier, the n95 beats the iphone.
vk, 29 Dec 2008dude ure so stupid. all those previous nokia touchscreens are so sad and gay most of them dont... morewhat are you talking about? the n95 and e90 crippled the iphone. Iphone is lame and old school. The iphone is just a media device that has brilliant interace. It not an all around smartphone like the n95, n93i, e90. Nowadays, an all around smartphone is preferable (camera, internet, and phone) for the conveniency of carrying one device. The 5 mp and 3.0 mp camera smartphones of the n-series are enuff to cripple the iphone.
Nokia takes longer to launch the touchscreen phones simply because of the number of tests. Plus, due to being feature packed.
Notice on ebay of used iphones being sold, therefore the iphone is outdated. Only the softwares and applications keep the iphone up to date. Design wise, it is now lame. I might sell my iphone because i use my n95 more, and also so I can by the nokia xm touchscreen.

Kyubii, 29 Dec 2008Your noob lol nokia already haa 5 touchscreen devices and the fact that apple never really cam... moredude ure so stupid. all those previous nokia touchscreens are so sad and gay most of them dont even have a damn camera lmao. not unitl a few months back nokia came out with 5800 and n97 that can literally shut apples mouth. i agree that nokias prolly laughing at apple but it did take nokia a while to come out with these two sick touchscreens. (by the time apples already made its money with the iphone and their prolly movin on to something better) my point was if it took them so long just to come out with something thats actually competition to the iphone then their def gonna take ages to release a 8mp phone. they were expecting nokias 8mp latest by christmas time but hey guess what christmas just went by and its a new year fag. nokia is always late!

Anonymous, 29 Dec 2008is ther any idea when this cell will be released to the u.s.a market? *(month) With the way nokia is leaning towards the U.S and Canada i think in 1-1/2-2 years cause too much people are scared of the symbian over here but i'm still glad they brought over the N85,N95-8gb,N72 and E71 to North America but just by the damn phone from europe like me and get the american 5800xm version and change the product code like i did with my E70 and update it ;)
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2008If Eldar says SE phones r not worth, then this guy is not pragmatic. Jus talk Nokia users they... moreLol are u sure all SE users r happy with their phone performance, go to find out yourself about the feedback of Xperia user due to cracked housing problem, and for your knowledge, i'm a happy nokia user.
A brief complaint. Any comment I make appears 24 hours after I've posted it! Conversely other contributors are posted immediately. This is grossly unfair and it results in my posts appearing in old pages. Furthermore it cripples live interaction and conversation. Many will not even read my posts if they prefer to read only the current page. GSM Arena should either vet ALL the posts or none of them. Instead, they selectively pick on people. This has to stop otherwise it will ruin this thread.
Among my previous posts I have campaigned for an N-series phone with a QWERTY and high res screen and now it is finally here! One could say I am a visionary and yet GSM Arena make it difficult for me to post here.
Looking at the imminent N97 we have some points:
1) for handsets, four rows is standard. The N97 only has three rows which may mean that many keys are in non-standard positions which may hinder speed typing. Furthermore it would have been nice to have a dedicated row of number keys.
2) the image aspect ratio of the screen is 16:9, so it is unlikely that it will show N97 recorded videos (VGA;30FPS) in full screen. This begs the question what's the point in having a widescreen multi-media device that cannot display device recorded videos in FULL screen.
3)resolution, resolution, resolution! It is not high enough for a 3.5 inch screen. Even HTC's Touch Pro has a higher res (640*480 pixels) and it is a smaller screen at
2.8 inches. SE's Xperia sports a vivid 800*480; 3 inch screen.
It is clear that Nokia should have gone for an 800*450 screen or higher eg 960*540. The time is ripe for vivid visuals!
is ther any idea when this cell will be released to the u.s.a market? *(month)
i'm really interested in this handset because the features are great and ofcourse to me this is by far the best version of nokia out and i love nokia phones. They have great coverage and are very durable. Hats off to the manufacturers!
-冥-, 29 Dec 20088 megapixel? Nokia was pending to launch an 8 MPx phone because based on general surveys: most... moreAlso are you sure about that, I thought it was because the American technology i.e. Texas Instruments OMAP processor, Nokia chose to use in this phone only supports 5 megapixel camera's and VGA video.
Maybe that will change when Nokia start using the newer processors in future phone's.
I guess the iPhone's success is due to Apple delivering what most people want (music and Internet) rather than hype.
-冥-, 29 Dec 20088 megapixel? Nokia was pending to launch an 8 MPx phone because based on general surveys: most... moreHmmm... Music and Internet are the most wanted, what focuses on music and Internet...
You just described the iPhone.
bottom line, unquestionalbly, undeniable, without doubt, assuredly, obviously and the plain truth is: Nokia is theee best.
And the N97? Sheesh, the height of awesome-ness.
-Some negatives are the really stuffed and crowded screen (hope they can be turned off),
-The camera should've been with higher resolution
-The Video recording should've been better
Othrewise, i am sooo buying this. like RESPECT!
8 megapixel? Nokia was pending to launch an 8 MPx phone because based on general surveys: most wanted feature is -> Music & Internet
anyway, I love the standby screen with full of online widgets.....
Anonymous, 29 Dec 2008better than cannot record video and QVGA qualitySo, I guess you could Bluetooth video's taken on an LG Renoir or Samsung i8510 and watch them in full widescreen.
Do you think the N97 will playback in letterbox like watching 4:3 TV on a widescreen.
I suppose we'll have to wait until it comes out.
