At last! At last! Nokia have granted my request: an N-series with a QWERTY. Now people can type in the vernacular. Furthermore speed thumb typing is easier with a QWERTY. My only small problem is there are only three rows of keys. Normally a handheld device has four rows. The three row system will mean having to learn a new keypad layout. So one will have to type differently for this particular phone. My advice to Nokia is to keep to the standard four row layout!
this phone is soo good!
if you want i can tell you everything about this phone

nokia didnt announce d processor yet because ti omap is finalizing its latest processor thats why ds wil be release in d midle of 2009.
the designer of ds phon are the ones who put a dual core in n82 and n95, so expect a dual core 4 n97 and a 3d graphic accelerator. rumors are just rumors, im basing my opinion on the past pres release from nokia and ti omap..
For more specificati, 12 Dec 2008For more specification,Please if you have a facebook account see this group (Nokia N97 N-serie... moreI had a quick look at that Facebook group.
How come the thread comparing it to the N96 says it has dual ARM 9 processors and the thread on it's specs says it has dual ARM 11 processors?

I guess the mouse/interface is on the left due to gaming, cause every game controller like the PS-2,PS3,Xbox etc has the direction pad on the left, its not that bad,if your a gamer you would love it :)
For more specification,Please if you have a facebook account see this group (Nokia N97 N-series) and look at these articles (N97 vs N96, N97 deep look, N97 specification......)
Nokia really needs a break-out design. Other than the odd fashion phones and the communicators, they really haven't done anything their own in a while. I actually have quite a few Nokia devices. I work for a company where I can get them very cheap if not completely free. Currently I own a 9210, 9500, 7230, e90, e61, e71, and a n82. It's a shame that if Nokia makes a QWERTY business phone that isn't a brick, it looks like a generic Blackberry. If they do a touch interface it looks like an iPhone copy... or... an HTC. I'm currently using my e71, but it bores me, just like the e61 did before it. It's a great phone, but it doesn't capture your imagination. Hopefully when I get my e90 back from Nokia Care (yes I had the dreaded mic-problem) I will go back to using that.
I had no point... Well, maybe I did. Nokia, you need to reinvent yourself so idiots like me will want to buy some of your new phones, because as is (and as you can see) this avid Nokia fan-boy is looking towards a Touch Pro.
Why on earth have they put the mouse/interface key on the left hand side; most people are right handed!
550 eur? it seems quite more expensive to me... i dont think it will come out at 550..
i think its about time for nokia people to rethink on their phone design and features i mean they are not what they are used to be in the cellphone business anymore.htc, apple, samsung these are the giants of the cellphone land nowadays and nokia has to think of something better to compete with these top brands right now.your n series i believe should end now and come up with any other series like x or anything and create something of your own and stop imitating other brands.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Okies then do you know the new Tagline of nokia "copying phones" and let me remind you all one thing that at gsmarena the first rating given to mobile is by the site and then voting starts, so SE.X1 had 8.8 and n97 had 8.4 lol peace...
Anonymous, 11 Dec 200832 gig hard drive !!! Xperia and omnia don't stand a chance. Nokia are godsFrankly tell me whether u need 32 GB on a hand set. It is bordering insanity. Just gimmicks to take the unsuspecting Up the gum tree. An ideal phone should be with around 10 GB memory, user friendly, easy to carry without damaging the crease of the blazer or the trouser, light weight gadget with adequate features. 8 MP , compass, a GPS without voice guidance, hand writing recognition etc, in my view, are superfluos, whether made by Nokia, Samsung, HTC or LG. They flaunt these numbers to milk u dry only.
the design is more like the HTC tytn II/att tilt/HTC kaiser
I hope the OS is better than Win MO
philm, 11 Dec 2008If your cousin works for nokia why did he/she not say about the touchscreen problems..They are... morewell, they were havin troubl with the touch screen of 5800 XM but they managed to solve that prob in N97...and about N-Gaze gaming? tell u what...you've got a whole bunch of keys in the QWERTY keyboard. so why worry for gaming? my bro tells me it's gonna be the best gamin mobile ever with huge flexibility of gaming not unlike PCs!! (maybe better than PSP!)
