Ray318, 17 Jul 2010I have been a loyal nokia fan. I am using n96 and previously used n70, n73, n82, n85 and more.... moreIt is 600mhz cpu version in it actualy, it's just downgraded to 434mhz as it is enough compatible for this OS.
Most of the things you do on this phone, it does not ewen riech the clock freq at 300mhz.
You can try that with app "energy pro".
hi to all n97 mini users! I'm planning to buy this phone soon, but I aint pretty sure if the performance of this phone could give me satisfaction. Is this phone worth buying? Is it true that this phone is really the stable version of the classic one?
I have been a loyal nokia fan. I am using n96 and previously used n70, n73, n82, n85 and more. I think the overall experience greatly depend on the CPU speed. I dunno why nokia would not put in a 600mhz CPU. It will make whole lot of differences. 434mhz is a bit marginal... My n96 is ok but it's dual 2xx MHz CPU is a bit too slow.
3MR, 16 Jul 2010Does the navigation feature of this phone free when you buy it, or must be downloaded from the... moreThe navigation SW is free, but you have to update it every once in a while to keep the maps current.
Hooking the N97 Mini up to Nokia's PC suite will update the maps for you free of charge.
Does the navigation feature of this phone free when you buy it, or must be downloaded from the Nokia website?
how do i change the right soft key to show something else besides contacts?
i just bought the mini and im happy with it actually. I had doubts but theyre gone now. Yey for the mini. Theres a learning curve using the qwerty keypad though. This is my first phone that has it
Saifxk2, 15 Jul 2010can anyone advice me between Nokia N97 mini or Nokia X6 ? I usually using facebook on mobile ... morewhatever said and done, physical qwerty keyboard is much better than a touch screen one as its more comfortable for texting. u use both the phones together for a few days n then u'll realise the wisdom in my words. do urself a favour. go to a mobile store n keep both the phones side by side n then u see the difference. i need not say this that automatically u'll choose the mini. i'd recommend anybody else with this confusion to do so. i dont think u'd need even a fraction of a second to decide. just close ur eyes n pick up the mini. y do u even need to think so much.
Anonymous, 15 Jul 2010is the screen scratch prone? my mom has had the nokia n97 (without any screen protector) for a... moreYes, screen protector is a must. it may not even cost u much but it will give u a lot of mental satisfaction and lesser worries. u dont have to be extra creful then. a carrying case is also recommended.
I have this phone now
I used to have x6-16gb, but I wanted a phys Keyboard, so
I shifted to mini instead of n97 because of the problem in the c memory
can anyone advice me between Nokia N97 mini or Nokia X6 ?

honey, 13 Jul 2010hey can anybody plz help me ... m hell confused between e72 and the n97 mini .. i lyk the n97 ... morethe e72 & n97mini are both different phones.
The e series nokia phones are mainly for business use whilst the n series are mainly for multi media usages like musi
c, movies, games etc
if ur usage is more of multi media & u have a large collection of music that u want to carry & play a lot of games & watch movies, I would suggest u to go for the n97 mini...
Although both the phones have a 5mp camera, n97 has a better lens compared to the e72 as it has the carl zeiss optics lens.
N97 mini has a touch screen display as well as a slider qwerty keypad, has built in 8gb memory which is better compared to the e72 as it has only 256 built in memory
i am presently using the n97mini which I bought a week back prior to which I was using the e71.
The reason I did not go for the e72 is because the n97 mini has all the things that the e72 has plus much more like a larger display, tv out, better camera, touch screen, better spaced slider keypad, 8gb built in memory + 32gb expandable, stereo loudspeakers with better output
the cons are lower processor...
If u will be using navigation as well, the n97 is much better due to the larger display.
Do remember to use a scratch guard on the n97 the day u buy as the scratches will become very prominent.
The best feature that I liked on both the phones are incase u receive any call & want to silence the ringtone, just turn the phone down with the display facing downwards & the ringtone silences itself... Also the moment u answer the call on n97 the touch screen display deactivates automatically when placed near ur ear...
Also, in the n97 the moment u touch ur phone to ur ear when u have an incoming call, it gets answered automatically...
I would strongly suggest u to go for the n97 mini, If u have the budget as it costs a about 35% more than the e72...
thakur, 14 Jul 2010i bought n97 mini 3 month back...really huge disappointed frm nokia..2 time i update version i... moreBad luck buddy. either u have bought a fake one or u dont know how to update ur firmware. Lets hope its the latter. always find out more from others before u blame such a lovely device. dont be a frog in the well.
3MR, 14 Jul 2010Does it have free navigation? for ever?yes. It has lifelong free navigation.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010well yes i know that. but you cant deny the problems with the n97/mini... im still interested ... moreI do agree with you. The keyboard is a fatal attraction of this device. its awesome n looks good. Else even i'd have settled in for the N8.

N97 mite hav better rating cause of its 32 gig memory ....... But seriously 32gb with the sa... moreIt has nothing to do with 8gb or 32gb hanging problem.
The N97 was released with few hardware board architecture faults, not that much as it's fixed with software updates, otherwise most users they know that they have big nokia on pocket and they fell up with lot of software that they rarely use it at all, but few of this software have it's plug-ins running on the background an often make phone unstable.
The N97mini is real and stable phone, is meant as a correction of N97.
You can put 16gb or 32gb memory card on N97mini and will not cause any problem at all.
N97 mite hav better rating cause of its 32 gig memory ....... But seriously 32gb with the same processer of n97 mini makes it hang a lot .........mini is better as it hardly hangs cause its 8gb memory is not too big to handle for a processor.......... And mini is not made of cheap plastic and is not thick as n97 ........... If u want technology for the price of n97 and n97 mini ......... Get the omnia pro b7610 or x2 xperia
