I bought this phone last sunday straight from Nokia (Original Raoul Version). Did the initial charging and used it for 1 day and then the phone got hang. I tried to reset it but still the same. The screen was not functioning at all.
Sent it to te Nokia care centre. At 1st they said it was a software problem so they reinstall everything back. After 2 hours i collected the phone and switched in on in front of them and the problem was not rectified. The screen was still not functioning and there was an system error message.
N then they said i had to leave my phone for 2 or 3 days. Called them after 2 days to ask what was the problem. They said it was a hardware problem and that they have to replace the motherboard. This is totally a manufacturing default. They should be replacing a brand bew phone for me. But instead they told me i had to wait for another 4 days for it to be done.
What the F**K!! I spend a lot on this phone and used it for ONE DAY!! There is no way i drown the phone, let alone dropped it!
So in my opinion, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE or you'll end up being disappointed like me.
Oh by the way, i lodged a complaint to NOKIA. And i do hope they will do something about this or i will do more than just complaint.
if there is an n97i mini upgraded version runnoing symbian -4 os and multitouch i will take that model again
otherwise maemo6 phone

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2010you need to put some patience ion this phone, like waiting for major firmware update for mini ... morei know what you're talking about, i also had same issues on my mini not being able to reboot. I have then found out whats causing it, it seems like a bug on putting wlan scanning in one of your widgets. sometimes it stucks on searching wireless signals, which causes it to drain up the battery life and thus preventing the phone to reboot. removing the wlan from the widgets list then eliminates the problem.

171171, 13 Jan 2010I have an upgrade due soon and usually only ever use nokia. I am now torn between the Motorola... morei have an N97 and it is just fantastic.
nothing bad about it
i personally havent used a Moto Dext/Cliq or any android device yet but from my experience of the N97, it is brilliant. it may have its flaws but once u use it, these flaws are so minimal
I have seen a compare with the normal Nokia N97. I find it here www.n97mini.nl its not quite impressive..
I have an upgrade due soon and usually only ever use nokia. I am now torn between the Motorola Dext and Nokia N97 but have read bad reports on the n97. Could anyone give their opinion to sway me 1 way or the other.
is it true that drive c/ ram has a larger memory than the original n97?
there is no display brightness related issues with n97 mini actually 97 mini s screen is more brighter than n97 s screen... but Poorer display visibility under sunlight
vj, 13 Jan 2010n97 mini is the best compare to 97
Differences from the standard N97:
Here are a few thi... morelarger c drive
have screen display brightness issue
have no official skype yet( does nokia promise it in mini model as well?)
no wow factor
webbrowser sucks loading page is damn slow
compact and good for portability
if it uses resistive multitouch technology, then it can wow the users
if it uses omap3 processor. Will much reduce the complaint
n97 mini is the best compare to 97
Differences from the standard N97:
Here are a few things that are different in the new N97 mini:
Slightly smaller and more compact form factor
Slightly smaller display (3.2" vs. 3.5") but with the same resolution
Poorer display visibility under sunlight
D-pad removed from the keypad and replaced with four way navigation keys
Space bar has now been enlarged
Lens cover has been removed
Slider opens at a lower angle
Built-in memory reduced from 32 GB to 8 GB
No FM transmitter
No TV-Out cable, charger adapter, cleaning cloth, stylus or carry case in the bundle
Higher quality supplied headset
Better range of built-in apps in the N97 mini
Smaller battery (and hence lower battery life)
