Kim, 27 Sep 2010Guys does anyone know of the mini giving earphone problems. . . ? I have just returned my and ... moredid u mean the headset that is on the package?
i think there's nothing wrong with it, you just need to push it harder inside the hole of the 3.5 jack and see what happens.
Guys does anyone know of the mini giving earphone problems. . . ? I have just returned my and got a replacement and this one is doing the same. Earphones are working on nokia 5800 but not on the N97 mini could this be a problem batch or what... ? I don't want to return this one again...
At the time when 1 Ghz processor speed and at least 256 MB Ram scenarios are becoming features of the top notch mobile handsets, this N97 mini seems to be an outdated choice for many. But what one can simply do? It's sort of a technology's curse. This does happens when you don't keep abreast with the technological advances or simply delay the launch of a product until technology becomes obsolete or advances to the next stage. Latter is the Nokia's case.
I am not comparing products here but just talking about technology and first mover's advantage scenario. Take for instance N8's example... first Nokia with 12 mega pixel shooter and an amoled screen. Samsung got that 12 mega pixel in a mobile phone long time back and have also now climbed up to super amoled screens. So, its obvious that amoled is obsolete if you compare it with super amoled technology.
If you don't keep pace with the technology, you will be behind in the race and that is where I feel N97 mini has failed to deliver... to deliver up to the expectations of many people like me who keep on waiting so long for new handsets from Nokia to be released that by the time they actually are, technology advances ahead hence making its features somewhat obsolete to compare it with the recent one.
Is it one update sun going on about this phone or wot, because lastnight i got a message from Nokia saying, "Check for new updates", but when i check, there is nothing jet!!
Integer, 26 Sep 2010It might be possible, only if someone out there had enough computing skills to modify change t... moreSure it will work with symbian3 this phone, and crackers possibly they are working on it daylimobile?? as for hardware it wont be problem, only GPU is missing on this phone, but for CPU on this phone is actually down-clocked to 434.Mhz and can be clocked up to 800Mhz as i saw a video about Nokia5320 overclocked up to 800Mhz!
To tell you the truth, i really don't care for Symbian3, because if i have it, then most of my software for S60v5th will not work with it, otherwise i would rather wait a year or two for that S3, so i can have enough software and updated OS til then!
A theoretical marvel... a practical disappointment...
The software is weak, hangs frequently, literally, if u give a hard stare.. multi tasking is to much to ask.can say that phone is aptly a "Confused box"!! lot of software bugs present. the version of symbian installed badly needs to be corrected!!
The network reception is AWFULLY WEAK...cant make a call from inside a building with moderately good reception..
battery backup is ok...
speaker clarity os barely ok.. (cant say good)
definitely a piece which I WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE....
yap the phone is al right having great function but the hanging feature is remain same its a heridatery
problem of nokia plz nokia reveal out frm his problem
The Crying Freeman, 23 Sep 2010Does anyone know if the N97 mini will be able to be upgraded to Symbian^3 ?It might be possible, only if someone out there had enough computing skills to modify change the old Symbian.
But I think switching from Symbian 5th to Symbian^3 is neither wise nor easy, taking into account the phone's mid-end specifications. It might be possible but might not work the way you expect it to be.
I have come to the conclusion that most of the comments on this site are wrong. It seems to me that there are a lot of idiots asking really dumb questions or exageratring problems. Sure the phone should have had more RAM and the initial firmware was not the best. But the phone is now very stable. I think one of the biggest problems is that the phone allows you to install applications that could affect the stability of the phone - for people without much common sense or computing skills it then becomes all to hard to fix and they blame the phone - if your're one of these people you shouldn't be messing around with something beyond your skills - your best option is to reset the phone and format the memory and stick to the defualt setup.
As for battery life - i really don't believe the exagerated claims of poor life. Just yesterday i used sports tracker for 2 hours, played music, browsed the web, sent emails, made phone calls and still had 75% charge when i went to bed. Sure you should charge everyday but what do you expect when you have a large screen, wifi, 3g and gps. It is typical of all new smart phones. Have a proper look at the battery life people get out of iphones or HTC's and stop complaining.
hi guys i am having a problem when i want to cancel an application i have to switch the phone off and on again is there an easier way?
Savior, 23 Sep 2010One of the crap phone i have ever seen in my life. Phone is damn slow; it gets hanged, freezes ... morei agree i dont like it either i have to go out side to make a call not like my last fone i had the battery cover is no good mine froze too and its slowwww

It hangs, stops responding, speed sucks.
Nokia is too bad in touch phones.
Now i am again switching back to Nokia E series, in which Nokia is uncompareable.
The Crying Freeman, 23 Sep 2010Does anyone know if the N97 mini will be able to be upgraded to Symbian^3 ?It will be crack roms-moding for it to, but will take time maybe.
Why would you want symbian3 on this phone, when there is not much software for it this days!
