Nokia N97 mini on sale in the US from Amazon and Dell

Nokia Symbian S60 Touch UI

The Nokia N97 mini has disembarked on US shores off the good ships Dell and Amazon. It can be delivered in a day, so you can get it in a hurry. If you missed Black Friday, this is a good chance to catch up in the gadget department.

On Amazon, the Nokia N97 mini costs 479.99 US dollars (317 euro), which is 99 dollars off the list price at the Nokia USA online store. At Dell you can get it for the same price with a coupon - the first one we stumbled upon in Google is WQDQBPXNHCZFVG (expires December 10th 2009). This gives you 100 dollars off the list price arriving at pretty much the same price as at Amazon.

The Nokia N97 mini is a bit smaller than the regular-sized N97. Nokia are going the extra length of promoting it via a viral ad campaign that shows how enjoyable are the mini things in life. We've got that covered here in our blog in case you want to check it out.

The major cut is the internal memory - 8GB down from 32GB. If you plug in a 16GB microSD card in the mini however, you'd probably have more than enough. The price difference between the Nokia N97 and the N97 mini covers the price of a 16GB microSD card, so the internal memory shouldn't be a deciding factor unless you want it to be extra roomy at 48GB.

If you haven't already, now's the time to read our Nokia N97 mini review (and the review of the big N97 too). Then you can decide whether to go for the mini now or hold out for the Nokia N900. We have a review of that too. So, what are you going to put under that Christmas tree?

OK, guys. I agree there are several better phones for $479, but... My mom owns 5800, it would better fit my 14 year old daughter than my mom. It's OK for the price, but touch screen experience is far from perfect. I ordered myself N900 (unfortunate...

When Nokia will learn that in order to have a good selling results in North America you have to sell the phone through carriers not Amazon or Nokia shop.
