But one thing you must keep in mind that you are paying for performance and a good buy is that one which ensures that you get maximum performance for your investment. Please do not compare this phone with high end phones but yes this can be ensured that this phone is at per or better than others in this price bracket. But you have to be a little vigilant about the processes that runs and consumes RAM. First you check out the installed application that are there any app that you never use, if there is any then simply remove it.thren install greenify app. start greenify and it will show you the background processes that consume system resources. hibernate them using it. Now you go to the settings button and open it. go to apps tab. open apps and go to running processes and see which apps are running there if there are any apps that you have downloaded and is still running then stop them manually. you will see RAM getting freed up. Also use clean up utility that came with software update version 1.1.2.2 to free up some more RAM. Now enjoy lag free super fast performance. But before all these make sure that you have updated your phone software to version 1.1.2.2.Also remove any redundant apps and keep a single app that would solve more than one purpose like 360 security app and king soft office app. Try these and inform how you feel now. I've been using the Nokia-X for the past two months and I can say that it is a very good phone. I have several apps installed i.e. games, etc but the performance is not affected. It never lags. (Unlike my previous phone from a certain established manufacturer). It runs smoothly specially the internet. Battery life is superb. I can say that the user interface is very simple and very user friendly. The only drawback to this unit is its camera and its screen is not scratch resistant (but you can have a screen protector installed to it). But if your after a phone which can run a lot of apps, durable, budget wise, and easy to use, Nokia-X is the phone for you.

I think nokia x is a pretty gøod phone nifty for a start...i dont get why you guys are criticizing this device just know the phone was only made for emerging markets

Recently I received one Samsung galaxy neo with 1 gb RAM but while there are only the user apps running the available RAM for the user left is 26%. when all apps are closed using a RAM cleaner total usable RAM became 67%. The phone was running stock rom.So the problem is there are many services running in the background apart from the user downloaded apps that the user is using practically. This is problem with all android phones with Google services. But in Nokia x system takes approximately 50% of the available RAM that is 416 MB. Rest 50% is available for user application. So with Google stock ROM for 1gb RAM user gets 350 MB free while in forked android of Nokia x user gets 220 MB free for total 512 MB RAM. Also the company installed ROM is better optimized than any custom ROM as they have more time and expertise for optimization.Rest you could try any available ROM from XDA and see if it's suits you. But in my opinion use app like greenify to stop background processes that are unwanted and wait for next software update from Nokia.

to those who are more knowledgeable, why does Nokia X only have 381 MB of usable RAM? i have seen other phones who have bigger usable RAM than Nokia X, the fact that they're also 512 MB. is there any way I can use more RAM than the actual 381 MB of usable RAM? if this will be rooted and have installed with another ROM, will the usable RAM change?

saqib, 02 Jun 2014Rhony i instal neet for speed game and some other applications. and i want to instal FIFA2014 ... morethat can't be done without root. if you root it then you will be able to move your apps to memory card.
