Nokia X6 visits Geekbench to test its Snapdragon 636 chipset

Nokia Android

It is pretty certain that the Nokia X6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 636 chipset – several leaks have shown as much but now we can add another data point, Geekbench. Results show the phone running Android 8.1 Oreo with a generous 6 GB of RAM.

TENAA specs show that this will be the top model, with cheaper 4 GB and even 3 GB options available (perhaps spread out across different regions).

GeekBench 4.2 (multi-core)

Higher is better

  • Nokia 7 plus
    5876
  • Nokia X6 (pre-release)
    4892
  • Nokia 6 (2018)
    4225

GeekBench 4.2 (single-core)

Higher is better

  • Nokia 7 plus
    1634
  • Nokia X6 (pre-release)
    1332
  • Nokia 6 (2018)
    876

The clockspeed listed by Geekbench (1.6 GHz) is for the “little” cluster of Kryo 260 cores, the “big” cluster should be running at 1.8 GHz as usual. As you can see, these Kryo cores are a good deal faster than Cortex-A53 used in the S630 chipset. The Snapdragon 660 chip found in the Nokia 7 plus has the same CPU at higher clockspeeds (along with a faster GPU).
