I've had this phone for 18 months now.
Ok - good points - small, nice display, nice features, good GPS, looks good and pretty hard wearing.
Now the downsides.
Most I suspect can be directed at it being a Windows phone but my primary requirement is for it to be an actual phone. In this respect it's mixed.
As a conventional phone, there are 2 bugs. Firstly it can ring twice before actually alerting you. If you have voicemail it doesn't leave much time to answer. Secondly (fixed by a recent s/w upgrade) the hang up button was the main button on the screen. So, it rings, you take it out of your pocket to answer and by the time it's made it out of your pocket, it's hung up. They've put a slider button on there now, better but this can be tricky to operate and It often takes 2-3 attempts to answer. To be fair there are the actual buttons but this seems counter intuitive sometimes.
I also use it with a Mercedes bluetooth system. I've lost count of the number of calls where the phone rings but doesn't answer. Where there is no audio if it does answer. Where the car says all is well and connected yet the phone rings and the car doesn't or where I press the voice dial button in the car and by the time the phone has responded, the car has given up waiting. In this respect, this phone is very lucky to not have been thrown out of the window on a great many occasions. (Had it been cheaper it would have been) I have reset the car to no avail, but a reboot of the phone always sorts it - hence it's the phone that's at fault here.
Battery life - minimal use - 2 days - this is fine as we can all plug it in overnight so I don't care.
The camera - ok quality - not great but hey - but, press the shutter button and wait 3 seconds for it to actually take! I've had a great many pics of walls and areas where something was happening when I pressed the button but had long gone by the time the phone did something.
The touchflow is great, but I have spent many frustrating minutes chasing buttons around the screen. The incoming text message one for example, you hit it for it to magically move as you do, putting you into mail. It also has a tendancy to duplicate words in text messages.
So, on the whole, great features let down by slow processor and very nasty (Windows) Software. I originally decided never to have anything with WIndows or HTC on them ever again. I may give HTC another chance with Android, but as an IT guy, I should have known better than to trust anything from Microsoft - after all, I always laugh at people suggesting using their products for servers. So Win Mo - NEVER, EVER AGAIN!!

Nat, 22 Apr 2009Does anyone have this problem -- my profile is on Normal, my alert for incoming call is set to... moreNo, mine does this too. Missed lots of calls due to this.
Afaik, lots of issues with this phone are down to the fact it's a windows phone so, in pure Microsoft tradition it's too slow to cope with basic functions.
