This handset is awsome, Danger Dan has bought poor T-Mobile version to try and compare. Nevermind you'll soon realise you should have saved your money for the Orbit as youve wasted your money :P

After reading the reviews I gather that the Sat Nav software is on a seperate memory card. Are you able to copy this onto a bigger card so you don't have to keep swapping cards to use the Sat Nav and if so how?

Can you copy the Sat Nav software onto another Micro SD card to use in the unit?

Hi. Just bought the Orbit from O2 but scroll wheel is very stiff to turn (unuseable)and the sat button does not feel as responsive as the others. Is this normal for the wheel and does it loosen up after a short while? Or should I be taking it back and asking for another?
Otherwise a nce phone. I've just upgraded from a Mini S, much slimmer and lighter but I'm not sure if I'll miss the keyboard...Time will tell....

Hi Friend,
No doubt this PPC is full of functions and one of the best now in market.
But frankly speaking I would like to tell you that it has two major drawbacks on which its manufacturer's (HTC) is working but no result untill now.

1- After installing couple of softwares it starts going through soft reseting loops. simple words keep restarting itself. Headache, you cant do anything, except take out memory card and it will become ok, or other option hard reset, means deleting all you data.

2- It corrupts the file in mico SD card. After using it for approximatley 1 week, it make some corrupted files in your memory card, and you cant do anything except formating the card. This is said to be due to excessive usage, especially with TOMTOM or other navigation softwares. But definately we spent handsome money to navigate and not to make it show piece.

So in simple words, 1st impression is marvellous, but long term,,,headache.
Decided yourself what you like.

And if anybody says that he/she has solution for it, than kindly dont forget to send an-email to me.
thanks, cheers.

{{{{My phone keeps automatically connecting to GPRS, how do i stop this as doesnt it cost a lot of money}}}}

Just go in setting and change GPS satellite configuration to wifi (if you have) or PC syn, so that it will update latest poistion of staellites through wifi or pc sync (internet) rather than connecting to GPRS and keep charging you.
best of luck.

A general update for those who have a little challenge with their toy.

When you can’t use your Home network for internet, remember that you have had it secure for wireless. Use the same settings to connect example the network key etc.

On the TT5 and TT6.

You have to use the root of the memory card and do NOT save them all in one folder. The best is to install all the TT5 and TT6 on the memory card and then all your other doc’s. When you switch the Orbit on, sometimes the TT5/6 would like to start up and just let it go through its phases. Remember to choose the install path for SD Card and NOT main memory the save space!!

To configure it on the device settings in TT5/6, make use of the “Other Bluetooth device” and not the wired one. I think it is the second one to select and just follow the on screen instructions.

For those who complain about RSI, why are you so long on the device during the day when you have to work or do you use it 100% of the 24hours? Like you, the phone wants to rest as well. LOL

Then I KNOW, someone again will complain about the camera quality, keep your comments about the camera to yourself and use your Canon or Nikon or whatever digital camera you have. This is a multi purpose device where you choose the functions of the PDA, phone or GPS.

For those who would like to have access to their home computer via the wireless at your work or internet café, you can download on the computer ORB at www.orb.com and register with email address and password. Log into your account at Mycast and you have full access to the pc or laptop. I even use it in bed to watch DVD’s to my Orbit or XDA EXEC! Keep in mind the laptop or pc has to be switched on.

I tested it with someone in South Africa to give a file to my friend and it works great!! It was faster than sending it via SKYPE or email. The beauty of ORB is that you can send exe.apps through that where the most email providers doesn’t allow it because they see those types of files as viruses.
After that I had to change the password for security reasons.

Any other help will be offered where I can do. Just use your common sense before you write a complaint about the device and make sure you read the manual before you do something less clever.
