I wonder if its 3G connection can support HSDPA just by upgrade software.
Does anyone have information about it?
o2 will not be doing the zinc in the uk cos the software is old they have gone for the XDA Trion instead.
this phone is now not being released due to software faults! i am an O2 rep and have just got news that this handset is being pulled
The phone still available in o2 (UK) u could found it on latest catelog.it said will available by next month.
O2 O2, time to think about your business.
You remember, few years ago O2 was TOP, now my friends..........
I still cannot get GN Netcom 6210 Bluetooth headset working with my Zinc. Pairing seems to be succesful but the phone does not automatically connect to the headset upon receiving and making calls. Can connect "manually" but that connetcion is teminated after 5-6 seconds. If I dial a number in that 5-6 seconds the call is transfered to phone and connected until I hang up. O2 sent me elaborated paring instructions but that did not help.
Anyone with the same problem? Noted there was a ROM update but this problem was reported a fixed bug.
problem with the zinc is a software problem, thats the reason for the delayed release. may be released later but not lookin anytime soon
just read the review on Zinc, overall not worth it. This is OEM from Asus .. http://www.mobile88.com/mobilegallery/phonereview.asp?phone=O2_XDA_Zinc&pg=review&prodid=20427&cat=27
Unfortunately, O2 have yet again delayed the release of this phone!
26th March 2007!! Ugh.
Looks nice BUT i won't get it. I tried it once and frankly, it doesn't blow me away. It works like the HTC Hermes though the touchscreen seems less responsive than the Hermes. Disappointing. Quite a few interesting new gadgets from the 3GSM Congress. I especially like the stuff from Nokia and HTC.
I hv in using o2 for long time, suffered big time, can anyone advise abt dis one !!!!! thanx
OK, so I have been testing the Zinc for over a month now. I have gone through 3 Firware upgrades and 3g finally seems to be working. Agian the unit is nicely made and attracts attention when using it around becuase it is so new. Battery life has improved and easily get a full day out of it. Exchange push emial works great, and so does 3rd party email software. Just so you know I am not a professional tester, my company happens to buy many O2's each year so they gave me one to test. Not my full time job.
