Your nickname, 07 Mar 2017Buy Xiaomi's latest phonesThe latest Xiaomi are indeed nice phones, only issue I have is that the Mi 5s (Plus) doesn't support the 800 MHz (band 20), which is also used (outside the cities) in my country (Europe).
OP3T has 3 types of models ( USA, China, Europe/Asia(with 800Mhz)), with different network bands. Looks like for the Xiaomi Mi 5s (Plus) there is only one type.
Considering all I have read, guess the camera quality is the main reason for me to wait for the next OnePlus. Would be nice if OP then at the same time also addresses some of my other issues/wishes.
One more comment on the battery issue, they are different batteries, but also the charging voltage was changed from 4.35V to 4.4V (that is also why OP needed to use a different battery, one that could cope with 4.4V).
Regarding the photo quality of the OP3T, on this same site is comparision of it against the Google Pixel XL. Espec. the camera section is interesting..... Like, OP3T...resulting in visible noise even at base ISO

Found a site that did a test to upgrade a OP3 with the newer OP3T components (Battery, Front Camera). The site shows a clear picture of both batteries, which clearly demonstrated that the are different. The labels of the batteries (both made by OnePlus) are:
OP3: Model BLP613, Rated Capacity 2900mAh, Typical Capacity 3000maH
OP3T: Model BLP633, Rated Capacity 3300mAh, Typical Capacity 3400maH
Also read some more individual user reviews, and noticed that still a lot of people are not really totally satisfied with the camera quality, it isn't bad, but not at the same level as the other OP3T components.
Just wished that OnePlus had also upgraded the camera sensor with a newer type like Xiaomi did with their Mi 5s (using a Sony IMX378 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with larger pixels at 1.55 microns, which Xiaomi says is equivalent to those found on compact cameras).
Decided not to buy the OP3T, for the following reasons. Will wait for the OP4/OP5 which is expected mid-2017, which will hopefully adres some of my issues with the OP3T, while at the same time keeping the great OP3T features like build quality and nice AMOLED panel.
1. The camera chip used is rather outdated, it's a Sony IMX298 (release date Nov-2015) and doesn't have Dual Pixel (which improves low light pictures).
2. It has USB 2.0, and not USB 3.0
3. After reading the comments here, not sure about the impact of the battery update (3000mAh > 3400mAh). The weight of the OP3T hasn't changed compared to the OP3, so could be a case of just an upped voltage (which isn't so good for the battery longevity).
4. It has a Qualcomm 821, which is manufactured with the 14nm process. Would rather wait for the 835, which is becoming available now, and is manufactured with the 10nm process. Smaller circuits usually mean more energy efficient and faster.
5. Would like a water resistant phone.
6. Would like a SD card slot
...Just my own opinion, which I wanted to share.
