The OnePlus 3T with its Snapdragon 821 and Huawei Mate 9 Pro with the Kirin 960 are two of the most powerful Android phones out there. Both devices run Android Nougat and have 6GB of RAM. Thatís why PhoneBuff put both devices to a speed test.
The test itself is opening a set of applications in the same order - launching, waiting to load, starting if thereís a button available and then moving on to the next one. After going through all basic apps like social media, games, streaming platforms and browser, time is logged as Lap 1. Then comes the second round - how fast do the opened apps start again when all of them are launched. In theory lap 2 should be easier for phones with more RAM as they can leave apps running in the background.
The OnePlus 3T starts off well with the preloaded apps like the Photo Gallery and the camera one. Then when the games come up, Mate 9 Pro just blasts past the 3T. Then when it is about reopening the apps, Huaweiís device actually stumbles at Fit the Fat mobile game - it isnít able to keep it opened. That way 3T just cruises to the finish and regains the lead.
Of course, both devices are pretty fast so even if OnePlus 3T is a tiny bit faster, the Mate 9 Pro certainly won't leave you waiting for too long.
Well the XDA report found out that the 3T only modified itself for the benchmarking apps and this test obviously has nothing to do with it.
If you have OP3T and/or HM9pro, try to do that kind of speed test 3x in a row, restart after finish all lap and do it again and again, you will see something and will surprise you. Do it to your flagship phone and compare it. Faster is good but ...
Exactly! But I guess some people just enjoy their comical pi**ing contests.
