Anonymous, 22 Aug 2018Well, if you buy a phone from a small Chinese company, you know what you get in terms of quali... moreThe problem mentioned are much of the compatibility issue, more on the software side rather than on hardware, and those issue happen on Samsung S9+ as well, not exclusively on Oneplus 6.
These thing happen as there are so much WiFi gear, Bluetooth device, Telco Carrier with different LTE band, and mostly got to troubleshoot with different brand of smartphone and different Android version only to find out.
To my surprise, some of the issue are of Android version itself, newer not exactly means better, and there are bugs inside these Android OS, particular on the compatibility issue.
Here is the thing, for WiFi, there are much on how the OS and skin manage the WiFI connection, some implementation due to power saving, or over refresh detection, it can disconnect the current WiFi connection without any notice. The router itself sometime also has some kind of compatible issue, where it doesn't work well with certain brand of WiFi chip on smartphone.
For Bluetooth, there is compatibility issue between the older Bluetooth standard and new Bluetooth standard. I have many Bluetooth gears as well, some just don't want to connect properly with the newer phone with newer Android OS, but connect perfectly fine on older smartphone with older Android OS.
Then, carrier related issue with call drop, and signal, it can be carrier issue as well. Coverage and signal strength, and also bandwidth throttling also play huge role here, and it won't solely be the phone issue.
All these mostly come down to the standardization issue.
Yes, I agree, the quickest solution would be changing for a new phone or other brand smartphone that works right out of the box rather than hoping for software fix, not necessary means getting Samsung S9+ will have the issue solve.

That happens if you decide not to buy a Galaxy S9 at the same price just to be different.
Best phone ever. Design - gorgeous. Speed unrivaled. Camera almost perfect maybe 3 or 4 best camera on the market. Battery charging best. Screen amazing. Price... really nice, its the best flagship ever.
Having issues with the camera.Selfie camera stop working after 1week of usage. Return the item back tonthe seller :-(
Can someone tell me if the OP6 utilizes the notch area when using splitscreen multitasking while in landscape mode? Thanks in advance!

Anonymous, 15 Aug 2018switch to Nokia 7 Plus a all rounder phone i have it awesome working with good cameraNokia is making good cover back.
Been eyeing out for the 8 or 9 with better design /bezelless.
But, they also have the lower end - the 1, 2, 3 models
Considerate to cater various needs (market)
Then, realised that their prices are tooooo high
Across all range : low, mid & high
They're many other options at their prices but with much better specs.
I think people who buy Nokia are mostly die hard fans.
They buy the brand they love, with less concern on the specs.
After all, most of mid range phones are good enough phones for everyday use.
N8 has great specs
But I'd go with OP6 - better design, possibly better specs and most definitely better price
I backed away from OP6 due to the Notch and thought the price is no longer competitive,
got excited recently at the anticipated OP6T with a Dot-ch instead, I thought it's not too bad
BUT, now very concerned after finding these when searched for OP6 problems.
This is a copy & paste from a reputable reviewer dated on 6th August 2018 : (Some and/or many users were mentioned - not all users)
IF OP can fix them - I will get the next OP !
Auto brightness — not working as expected,
Notifications — don’t show up,
or are automatically removed after a while.
Samsung Pay — doesn’t work on the Gear S3 when connected to the phone
Call drops – This doesn’t seem to be limited to a particular region or network carrier either
— it’s happening across the globe.
Missed calls – Users are getting missed call or voicemail alert notifications but the phone doesn’t ring before that. The phone isn’t set to silent or do not disturb mode.
Calls continue after hanging up – Some users have found they can still hear the person at the other end of the line after hanging up. The only way to fully end the call is to restart the device. This is one of the biggest OnePlus 6 problems for users that have come across it and should be addressed by OnePlus immediately
Cannot be heard during calls – the person at the other end of the line isn’t able to hear,
or are unable to hear the other person.
Connectivity issues —
No data connectivity – Users are seeing a full signal on the phone, but the data connection doesn’t seem to work. Many users find this problem occurs numerous times a day.
Status bar — battery percentage - not available,
— three overflow status bar dots
Double tap to wake issue – doesn’t work as expected, requiring multiple taps before the device responds. Particularly if the phone has been idle for a while.
Selfie portrait mode – OnePlus has confirmed a portrait mode with the front-facing camera is in the works, to be available in a future update.
Display/UI overlap – parts of the display are cut out, making key areas of apps inaccessible.
Camera issues – autofocus issue,
— Panorama mode doesn’t work very well
— and the scene is extremely dark when trying to capture slow motion video

Otherwise this phone is good. I suggest you ,that you yourself try above mentioned 3 points and give your honest ,sincere opinion. Even other persons also can try.
Thanks in advance.

Simply a machine of respect! Surprising performance, for reasonably priced price, delivers quality to the levels of other top brands. Now it is explained the fear in taxing and fining these devices in Brazil, because they put the others to eat dust without ceremony. Negative point the speed of unloading of the battery, but it balances with the quick charge. Excellent camera, excellent design, excellent processor, tuned and adjusted operating system with wonderful performance. It's worth it, buy and stay under three years or more without thinking about switching smartphones.

My genuine review after using this phone nearly for a month...
Build quality of Oneplus 6 is best in this price range. I really love the design and its premium feel in the hands. Especially the red variant is just amazing.
2.CALLING: All basic features are well doing and no hanging issues at all. I have tested the call quality and loudness of earpiece. compared to previous devices of Oneplus, OP6 performed well. No call disturbances and noise issues. Earpiece produces clear voice call quality.
3.DISPLAY: The second thing that I love about this smartphone is, its huge beautiful display. 6.28" tall AMOLED display gives you better viewing angles and enough pixel density. Though it comes with a FHD display, it looks like Samsung's QHD screen. And touch is very smooth. There are some minute keyboard errors which I have noticed, but are negligible. It could be better if it is provided with QHD display, which should be included for premium smartphones.
4.OS & PERFORMANCE: Yeah... The most curious segment. Believe me guys, even high end and expensive phones couldn't compete with my OP6. It is a real flagship killer. If you are a speed lover and wanna experience a liquid smooth performance, blindly go for it. Snapdragon 845 gives you an ultimate performance on OP6. Opening apps at best speed. RAM management is good. No lagging issues till now. I bought an 8GB variant, and its truly a beast....!
5.CAMERAS: Hey selfie lovers.. This phone is for your pleasure. Both the cameras are amazing at day light, and equally disappointing in low light. Pictures taken with rear camera are pretty good. Color tone, sharpness, vibrance, HDR effect, everything is fantastic. Flashlight sometimes gives you higher exposure and false colour. Pro mode is an ultimate thing. Slow-Mo video is also fine, but not as good as Samsung and Sony phones. Front camera takes great selfies.. but it isn't wide enough (for me ;p )
6.CONNECTIVITY: I do use dual 4G VoLTE sims. I haven't noticed any connectivity issues. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc all are working good and fast.
7.BATTERY: Youth's favourite segment is here... 3300mAh battery comes with a surprising charging speed. yes, it takes just 1hour 10mins to charge from 0 to 100. And you can have a decent battery backup. It gives me 10 hours backup on heavy usage and a full day battery life on busy days. Trust me, battery life doesn't disappoint you.
8.MUSIC: Audiophiles please don't look at OnePlus6. Music is louder in headphones, but it produces lot of noise. It hurts my ears a lot. I'm currently using SONY's XB950 with this. And even tested it's music quality with more expensive headphones. Believe me, it's totally disappointing. Whatever the headphone you plug to it, it never satisfy your music lust. Music quality is really bad in headphones. I have tried all kind of equalizers and audio tuners, but of no improvement. I donno why it is provided with Dirac HD instead of Dolby Atmos. 3.5mm audio jack is a good thing. If you are a music lover, go for LG V35 or Samsung S9.
9.SPEAKER: Though it comes with a single speaker, volume is loud enough and there's a little noise is observed as well..
10.SECURITY: Security patch up level still in July. Face recognition is amazing.
11.FINGERPRINT SENSOR: Works pretty well and very fast. Sometimes it takes a little time but mostly it unlocks in no time.
12.PERSONALISATION: As it comes with plain stock android UI, you can't personalise your device much. But reasonable personalisation features are included. Do not expect the level of personalisation as you do in Samsung and LG devices.
13.GAMING: Gaming experience is smooth and no lagging. I have tried heavy games like Asphalt 8 and NFC. All are played with no reloading problems.
14.DURABILITY: Because I'm not a rich guy, I did not perform any stunts with this phone. But the phone's body feels strong enough to survive from accidental falls and kicks. It could be better if the waterproof feature is included.
15.VALUE FOR MONEY: At this price range, most of the premium features are included with this device. So OP6 is a budget flagship amongst.
-No waterproof and IP68 rating
-Bad music quality
-Own UI development.
