DxOMark reviewed the OnePlus 6 camera and the results are quite positive – it scored higher than the Galaxy Note8 and both iPhone 8 models (but trails the X by a single point). Not bad for a €520 phone, now is it?
If the OnePlus camera has a weak spot, it’s shooting videos. It scored 100 points on photography, but only 87 for video. Still, that puts in a point ahead of the Google Pixel 2 for still shots.
The still camera was commended for fast and accurate autofocus, reliable exposure and vivid colors, plus a solid performance by the flash. Some noise is present in uniform areas and the camera sometimes loses the fine detail.
The video camera has a fast autofocus too but also efficient stabilization and low noise levels. However, it’s not without its faults – it oversharpened the image and worse, it didn’t do it consistently (sharpness varies between frames).
You can read the full review over at the DxOMark's website. And don’t miss our thoughts on the camera.
Heres a one line narrative for you: the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and the Mi 8 both have an higher DxO score that the OP6, while costing less money and now having physical stores (with customer support) in many places of Europe.
