I have a Friend w... moreMight be she is accidentally covering the proximity sensor which is under the screen by some object, when the proximity sensor is covered whatsapp automatically starts playing audio through the earpiece and stops playing the audio whenever it detects that its not covered.
Under screen proximity sensors are not that good. Just try keeping the phone on a table and then playing whatsapp audio because I've never faced such issue on my oneplus 7. Might be your proximity sensor is broken.

Oneplus is Aware of this Problem, and no Solution has been released (in such a Long time). Many Forums of Oneplus, Reddit Pages and Other Sites are Full with Users of this Phone (Oneplus 7) sharing this Frustrating Issue.
It seem's that this issue was presented when the OP7 migrate from Android 9 to Android 10. Many Users—with this problem— have opted to sell their Phones (OP7).
For me, is not viable to Wait an Indefined Time until, perphaps, maybe, just maybe, Oneplus Fixes this Issue. Personally, I'm buying the Oneplus 6T, that as of this moment: Doesn't have this WhatsApp Problem, wich is the main reason a Use a Phone. I Send my best Wishes to all OP7 Users would get a Solution (Fix) for this Problem. Still, besides this Kind of Issue, and in my Personal Opinion: Oneplus bring the User the Best Android Experience. !Best Regards to All!

I'm trying to decide between this Phone (Oneplus 7) and the Oneplus 6T. I have a Friend who has the OP 7, but the phone has issues with WhatsApp when playing audio like 40% of the Times the Screen Goes Black, and she has to manually try to Repeat the Process. This is Annoying for her, and For me would be the same in that case. How many People in this Forum have the Same Problem? Is this an Android 10 problem? With the last Update the issue failure (WhatsApp Audio Playback) when from 100% of the times to 40% aprox, but this to me is still annoying. Other than that, my friend tells me that this Phone is Wonderful. Any chance of a Solution with an Update over time?

It not only happens with google images but with other websites too... A fix is on the way..........

skshamshir1, 10 May 2020778 comments and not a single comment about why this phone is no good for business users espec... moreFrom my experience with many Android smartphone, I could say this could be Whatapps and Google Image problem rather than is Oneplus Oxygen OS problem.
You can report the problem to the specific apps and Oneplus them self, but please don't just blame on the phone only.
Not a defender or fans of the brand, but seemingly people only blame on hardware without blaming on the software itself. Such as many people only blame the smartphone they bought cannot play C.O.D properly, but never blame why this C.O.D game doesn't optimize properly on their specific smartphone they bought with different graphic setting.

bought OP7 last october, performance was great especially with all the software updates from OP that fixes most of the issues so far. noticed some heating issues during heavy gaming but no effect on the gaming performance itself. battery life is average but can last the whole day with minimal to average use but with heavy gaming, mine can last 4 to 5 hour screen time with settings maxed out

778 comments and not a single comment about why this phone is no good for business users especially those who use WhatsApp for communication.
I am using this set since it's release although a very powerful and fast set altogether but I'm really disappointed that a very basic feature like playback of audio clips (on WhatsApp) doesn't work properly on this expensive set. There is nothing technical and it is a flaw which must be fixed / resolved to justify the price and class of this product.
Second problem is about the screenshot incompatibility with Google images. This is very frustrating. Whenever a screenshot is taken on Google images, that particular webpage gets stuck (Google Chrome) and browser window needs to be closed and reopened again.
Worst part is about the after sales and customer feedback service of OnePlus as they have a put a deaf ear to all such complaints.
Very bad experience with OnePlus, never again.
