OnePlus Android Rumors

OnePlus is said to announce the OnePlus 7 series on May 14, and as we inch closer to this rumored date, we keep hearing more about these smartphones. Details of the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro's displays and cameras have already leaked, and now we get to know more about their storage variants.

According to an industry tipster, the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro will both come in two storage options - 128GB and 256GB. The former will have 6GB RAM whereas the latter will be offered with 8GB RAM. However, there will be a third model of the Pro variant coming with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Needless to say, both these smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC.

The tipster also reiterates that the standard edition will feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ display whereas the Pro version will be built around a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ screen having a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Renders of OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro

Previous leaks stated that the OnePlus 7 would come with a 48MP + 24MP camera setup, but new information reveals that this smartphone will actually come with a 5MP depth sensor instead of a 24MP unit. We don't have any details about the selfie snapper on this phone, but the Pro version is said to sport a 16MP shooter having f/2.0 aperture.

The OnePlus 7 will ship with a 3,700 mAh battery with 20W fast charging, unlike the Pro variant which will pack a 4,000 mAh cell with 30W Warp Charge support.

OnePlus is expected to launch OnePlus 7 Pro 5G as well, and the source says that it will come with the same specifications as the Pro model with the difference being 5G support. Both these phones will be offered in Blue, Grey, and Brown colors.

Although these specs are interesting, OnePlus is a non-starter for me due to the lack of expandable memory. I use my current phone to listen to music all day long and I have many thousands of tracks loaded; mostly purchased on Bandcamp. I like havi...
