Is sad midrange flagship smartphones have to suffer from this i understand why budget smartphones have to but se why the expensive models have to if you know what i mean.

This phone was great when I had it:
Bought it April 2020 (the base model) and it went like gangbusters, despite the fact we were all trying to stop the spread. Massive upgrade over my iPhone 6s my parents bought me.
This was the last great OP phone before 'the dark ages' of the 8T to the 11 (8/8 Pro seemed alright, but definitely signaled where OP would go), though even my 7T wasn't fully immune from the ****storm of bad software we got. I fully expected this thing to get an Android 13 upgrade, which never came......
That being said, this was an extremely reliable daily driver, with great performance, a great refresh rate, fast charging, and GOOD cameras (I will die on this hill, OP cameras are not as bad as everyone says they all are).
I'm now in the Samsung ecosystem as I can't trust OP yet at this point. Hoping that they will get back to their 'Never Settle' roots by the time I need a new upgrade.

working ALMOST flawlessly (fingerprint sensor is +50% false negative ... i miss the 99.99% working dedicated fingerprint back sensor i had on my older Xiaomi Mi 4S - also the IR emitter was nice - the audio jack would be nice too but i can live without those.
What i cannot live without is the clean Oxygen UI and no trace of chinese pre-installed stuff :)
I would probably stretch using it for another year or two or as long as battery works to a satisfactory level.
