It's just that OnePlus don't want to have that certified. Yeah, Ingress Protection is just an official certificate and an extra payment. They made it cheaper because one of them is to not have it certified but they guarantee that it's just as water resistant as the certified ones.
Yeah, you can dunk your OnePlus 7T Pro in fresh underwater and it'll be fine.

Oneplus was a great product for me until they started going for big and heavy phones.
those sizes and weighted phones are targeted for geeks only.
please Oneplus, go back to normal sizes phones or release a OneMinus version of your phones.
