Does the 8 have the notorious "grayish HDR blacks in complete dark surroundings" issue.. 7t , 8t as well as 9 series suffer from it
Ive decide to get 7 Pro because it has better camera setup (Telephoto and macro). plus no punch hole in the screen. I know the SoC is below the SD865 but I am not a gamer, so I think it suites for me properly, also the price is too good as 379 euros
beep bop boop, 11 Mar 2021OP8T is much better that this and cheaper tooFlat screen, 4500 instead 4300, 120hz and 5mp Macro camera is much better for you ???
Define much better for us please
8, 8T or 7 Pro ?
Can watch Netflix no problem in HDR. As for lags they don't exist. The only thing we get sometimes is a little stutter on poorly optimised apps that don't support 90hz...you see because we've gotten used to the 90hz anything less looks a bit odd and slow. The 8T is a little better than this but it's newer and so it should be. I'm guessing the curved screen on the OP8 has kept the price high and is now more expensive than its successor the OP8. Personally I like the curved screen.. It gives it a more premium feel so my next phone will probably be the 0P10 Pro as it seems only the pro version gets the curves now. I hope they increase the battery size a bit to keep up with the ever more powerful chips that they use. Heavy gaming on max graphics get about 4-5 hours and normal gaming time I get around 7 hours. It's great for Watching videos and it can last 2 days with very light usage. I just wish the standby time was a bit better. A 5000ma battery would be perfect for this phone.

James, 26 Jan 2021People normally say hanging when a phone stutters and lags. There's not a Snapdragon 865 ... moreThe phone doesn't lag, apps on this do lag though. I noticed Reddit spikes a little bit while scrolling, so does Google Chrome. Demanding games run very smoothly and the fun is super smooth. But Android has some compatibility issues and almost every app has to lag here and there unlike with iPhone (I am the biggest iPhone hater out there, but I am realistic and not a fanboi).

This is from someone who hates taking photos, during video calls, the front camera is too fu**ing bright that it is definitely annoying. Definitely feels like a downgrade when it comes to video call quality. Other than that, the cameras seem great to me (Idc about camera performance and I hate taking pictures anyway).
my opinion after 6 mounth use(of 100 percent):
Design : 96% (beautifully & build quality)
Screen: 95% (smoothness) 85%(edge) 87%(quality of panel screen)
Hardware: 95%(speed) 92%(less heat)
UI: 100%(without any lag) 96%(very minimal & functional ui)
Rear camera: 87%(color) 83%(sharpness) 60%(super macro) 92%(dynamic range)
Front camera: 84%(detail) 79%(too bright that need software update for camera)
Cam record: 93%(dynamic range) 87%(color) 92%(stablizer) 88%(sharpness)
Battery: 91%(good enogh for 1/5 days) 95%(fast Charge) 0(lack of wirless)
Speaker: 89%(Loudness) 93%(quality) 96%(call)
My OneOplus 8 lost widewine L1 (to L3) which means I cant watch Netflix and other streaming apps in HD !
So 600 € phone can play only SD streaming content.
I do not reccomend this phone. This is my first and last oneplus phone.

The OnePlus 8 is one of the best phones currently on the market at the moment. With the 90hz refresh rate and a highspeed 8gb of ram all at a affordable price, this tops anything else you can get on the market for the price point. Personally, once I switched from the Note 8, I have realized there is no going back. The Dolby audio is also a real benefit for hearing your surroundings when you play games like Fortnite or PUBG Mobile. The ram and the processer really helps keep and maintain the graphics at a amazing temperature. In all, I would recommend Oneplus if you are a avid gamer yourself.

Mayank, 08 Dec 2020Is oneplus 8 waterproof Kind of. It has no official IP water rating, but has been proven to be able to survive in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. So not officially, but yes, it is water resistant.

Only thing anyone could complain about is the camera..they swapped last year's telephoto camera for a macro one that's pants but it doesn't really affect normal day to day photos .
