Oppo Digital is based in Mountain View, California, as has always been.
Oppo Digital and Oppo Electronics (or in full name Guangdong Oppo Mobile Communications Co., Ltd.) are completely separate companies, with the US company having licensed the use of the logo for their electronics products.
From Oppo Digital:
Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, OPPO Digital designs and markets high quality digital electronics that deliver style, performance, innovation, and value to A/V enthusiasts and savvy consumers alike. The company's attention to core product performance and strong customer focus distinguishes it from traditional consumer-electronics brands.
With products that speak for themselves and relying on word-of-mouth, OPPO Digital does not have any dedicated Marketing and Sales personnel. We have spent most of all energy on product design and customer service. We pride ourselves on servicing all our customers right here in Mountain View, California.
Disclaimer: OPPO Digital USA does not carry any mobile phone products. We are not able to respond to any inquiries related to mobile phone products.
Oppo Electronics on the other hand is owned by BBK Electronics, which also owns OnePlus, Vivo, Memorex, Philco and many other brands, and is based in Guangzhou, China.
But you know what? Who cares. Oppo Digital makes defacto best Bluray players on this planet, and Oppo Electronics is pushing the envelope in the mobile arena. Without Oppo, we would not have FullHD screens on phones, high quality front cameras, HDR cameras, superfast chargers, etc.
And people still think Samsung drives the market...
Ken, 29 Sep 2014Is it true that the Oppo Brand is from USA? or it is from China? Oppo is a Chinese manufacturer of Blu-Ray, mobile phones, planar headphones and amplifier. There is a USA division for distribution/ warranty as there is in Europe too. Oppo does not originate from the USA like some people would believe

The phone division is run separate to them but is still from the same company in China. The Oppo phones are good quality phones and are made by Oppo for other companies too. I'm not naming who they manufacture phones for but a lot would be surprised who they actually are.
its actually $600 for the find 7, 500 for 7a and a minimum of 300 for the OPO. but at least you can buy the find 7 and find 7a. and the reasons for the price differences are to do with marketing research and additional features and so on. the OPO doesn't have a removable battery with thermal protective technology to prevent it overheating with a VOOC charger. it doesn't have a QHD screen it doesn't have additional software features (someone has to be paid to develop those feature such as 50mp photo feature) the OPO is also not made of premium material consisting of metal alloys. and the find 7 has all the feature i mentioned that the OPO doesn't plus the find 7 has expandable storage. i like the OPO and a big fan of cyanogen but what is the point of saying the OPO is so much cheaper if you cant buy it. it just rules out the argument you were stating in the first place. and it doesn't help that oppo and OPO are sister companies. they aren't trying to compete with each other. even if they theoretically are. sorry if this came across fierce in any way. but i believe my argument is valid. and hope that you can see why this is what i think this
we rather go to branded like samsung s5. just to add a small amount of money.

Although the battery life is a concern it's not like it takes long to charge ^_^ . Hopefully when I buy this phone for my birthday I'm going to try and also get a spare battery. And for the official spare battery its not a lot for the real deal. And it least it is removable _____

AnonD-174724, 19 Sep 2014Well I am completely disagree with you, I have been using this phone since 20 days now and my ... moreSome people consider these phones being gaming consoles and run 3D games on them, which of course flatten the battery in no time, no matter what you're using.
In my case I get both 7 and 7a lasting over a day on average, with 7a comfortably running for 2 days with double digit percentage to spare.
But obviously I don't play games on it.
One side note though - it's 35C or so outside here, and when phone is in a silicon case and you're doing a 4K video recording, the case does get hot.
I would recommend anyone attempting 4k video recording to take it out of the case completely or use one that can disperse heat. Soft cases generally cannot, and cook the phone.
Unlike Sony Z2 which lasts 5-10 minutes before putting the heat warning on the screen and refusing to use camera any longer, Find 7 did go on for much longer time without complaints, but it did get hot to the point it was very uncomfortable to hold.
However - that is expected. And I don't know any phone (or even a proper camera) that doesn't heat up in 4k recording.
That was side note, the main note is supposed to be that in 4k video recording mode the battery life also isn't going to be spectacular.
But you could still get away with several hours of recording before it exhales.

AnonD-297002, 29 Sep 2014i am using lg g3 should i replace it with opp find 7
reply ???????Find 7 has less (or rather no) lag in the UI, and less processed photos from otherwise near identical camera sensor.
Metering on LG is better, overall pic quality of Oppo beats LG anytime.
13 MP mode is very good in decent light, the 50 MP mode is somewhat grainy but still squeezes out a lot more details than 20.7 MP Sony Z2.
Battery life is the weakest point of Find 7. Your G3 lasts nearly twice as long as Find 7 would.
Find 7a is a bit better, lasting some 40-50% longer than Find 7, at the expense of lower res screen, mostly.
So you'll get somewhat snappier interface and better camera in good lighting and lose some battery life.
I won't get into gimmicks like waving over the screen to switch pages, or drawing gestures on the screen, or as these are a matter of taste.

Oppo Digital (the one that makes Bluray players) is from USA.
The Oppo Mobile (the one that makes phones) is from China and is using the same logo, but it is not the same company.
So yes, it's Chinese. That said - their thinking is very un-Chinese...
