Oppo Android

Yesterday, Oppo announced that it will officially launch the Reno6 series on May 27. Now, the company has shared a teaser for the Reno6 Pro with a summer-inspired color scheme. In addition, the smartphone and its Reno6 Pro+ sibling have been listed on JD.com, one of China’s largest retailers, ahead of the phone’s announcement. The listing shows the phone from all angles in product renders.

The device in the video above allegedly shows the Oppo Reno6 Pro which has curved sides. It has a shimmery finish on the back that’s meant to mimic the sparkling waves of the sea at midday, just in time for the summer.

The name of this finish may be Crystal Blue, as reported by Digital Chat Station via Weibo. They also say that the color is textured and feels great in hand.

Turning our attention to the vanilla Reno6, its renders also appeared on JD.com, showing that the phone’s exterior design has a flattened edge all the way around, much like the iPhone 12 series. The phone is currently waiting "to be released". The listing shows three color options for the Reno6 including “Summer Blue”, “Night Sea”, and “Galaxy Dream”. It also mentions that the phone will have 65W charging and a 90Hz display.

So far, we’re expecting three Reno6 models to be announced. A Reno6, Reno6 Pro, and Reno6 Pro+. The JD listing doesn’t have any specifications, but previous reports suggested that the Reno6 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 while the Reno6 Pro+ is said to run a Snapdragon 870 chipset.

Both the Pro and Pro+ will have quad cameras, but the Pro+ will have a dedicated 13MP telephoto camera, 50MP main camera, 16MP ultrawide, and 2MP depth sensor. The Reno6 Pro, however, will have a 64MP main cam, 8MP ultrawide, and dual 2MP sensors, each for depth and macro photos. Both are expected to have a 6.55-inch Full HD+ screen.

I think the Reno release cycle just seems crazy because they launch in China way before the rest of the world. Reno 5 was actually unveiled in December and launched in January
