Oppo Android

Did you enjoy the Oppo Reno photos of monument replicas that showed what the 10x zoom camera can do? If you did, here are a few more samples, this time the focus is on architecture, but the skills of the zoom camera are as vital as ever.

The good news is that these shots show the full photo from the zoom camera, rather than just a cutout like the ones from yesterday. Unfortunately, the samples (all but the last pair) have been downscaled to 1080p.

A Weibo post details the camera specifications (Source link below 1, if you want to read it). The rear will sport a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor behind a Schneider-certified lens with dual aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4), just like the R17 Pro.

The ultra-wide camera will have 120° FoV. The 10x zoom is measured in relation to it, it goes from 16mm to 160mm (in 35mm equivalent).

Unrelated to the camera, but the blog post claims that the Oppo Reno will have a 4,065mAh battery with insane 50W Super VOOC 4.0 charging. A full charge will take 40 minutes and the charger is TUV-certified for safety to boot.

The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset and will have several memory options – 8GB, 10GB and 256GB – all with 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

There’s talk of an Oppo Reno 5G, which will add a Snapdragon X50 modem into the mix and bump up the battery to 5,000mAh. This one will be based on the 12/256GB.

Then there’s the Oppo Reno Lamborghini with up to 512GB of faster UFS 3.0 storage. And 12GB of RAM and 5,000mAh battery, because why not.

Another interesting tidbit from the blog post is that the Reno will have an x-axis motor rather than z-axis, which will make the vibration feel more like a physical button.

The screen is set to be a 1080p+ Dynamic AMOLED with HDR10+ support and there's going to be in-display fingerprint reader. This will be one interesting phone if all of this pans out.

How much will all this cost? Check the table below.

Model Memory Price (China) Converted price
Oppo Reno 8/256GB CNY 5,000 $745
10/256GB CNY 5,500 $820
12/256GB CNY 7,000 $1,040
Oppo Reno Lamborghini 12/512GB CNY 10,000 $1,500
Oppo Reno Light Deluxe 8/128GB CNY 3,700 $550
8/256GB CNY 4,000 $600

And while we’re at it, we’d be remiss not to mention that Oppo is prepping an AI digital assistant for the Reno. Meet Breeno:

It will feature both voice and image recognition and it can be the brains of your smart home. So, it will have all the skills of a modern digital assistant, though that doesn’t necessarily mean the market needs another one of those.
