The Realme X50 Pro 5G was unveiled today and it features several performance enhancements and faster charging compared to the X50 5G, it even sports a new screen. Give Will three minutes to talk you through all the key features of the Pro model.
The X50 Pro 5G is comparable to last year’s X2 Pro – Realme’s previous phone to use a top of the line Snapdragon (S855+ in that case). Of course, the X50 duo (Pro and non-Pro) support 5G connectivity, distinguishing it from the 2019 model.
Compared to the Realme X50 5G, you're getting a much more powerful chipset (S865 vs. S765G), plus faster storage (UFS 3.0 vs. 2.1). We'll see how much of an impact these changes have on performance when we finish running benchmarks.
The S765G's GPU could never make full use of the 120Hz refresh rate of the X50. The Pro model switches from that LCD panel to a Super AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate. The new flagship chipset should be much better at running games at 90Hz. Of course, if you want you could switch back to 60Hz.
The battery capacity is the same as on the non-Pro model, but it's hard to predict how the new chipset and display will affect battery life. However, the X50 Pro 5G boasts the new SuperDart Flash Charge - 65W wired charging (up from 30W). Going from 0-100% takes just over half an hour.
The rear camera setup is almost the same, though the 2x zoom camera has a brighter aperture. The main camera has a 64MP sensor and f/1.8 lens, followed by a 12MP telephoto camera, 8MP ultra wide and 2MP depth sensor (replacing the macro camera). Around the front we have another upgrade, a 32MP sensor for the main selfie camera (the 8MP ultra wide from the X50 remains unchanged).
We’re already working on a full review of the phone. In the meantime you can check out our fairly detailed hands-on review, which features plenty of camera samples.
The year of the pill holes.
If Realme X50 Pro costs just 500 EUR for the 128/8GB variant instead of 600 EUR, it would be a slightly cheaper alternative of Xiaomi Mi 10 and considerably more expensive than the 128/8GB Realme X2 Pro model which costs 450 EUR. Also the missing aud...
