OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS Open Beta 15 and 17 for the OP5T and OP5, respectively. The new software update adds front camera portrait mode, various system bug fixes and some other minor tweaks. It's good to see OnePlus keeping its promises from the Open Ears Forum that the company held last month.
The new patch to the Open Beta software hint at a major stable release after the incremental OnePlus 5 and 5T firmware update last week. This time around, the patch adds portrait mode to the selfie cam and bumps up the security patch to August 2018. It also takes care of some nasty bugs like call recording issue in India and optimizes background power consumption control.
The Weather, OnePlus Switch and Note apps get some polishing - better weather data accuracy, hourly weather forecast, UI tweaks for the OnePlus Switch and Notes and Gaming Mode 3.0 is now more helpful. New additions to the latter are call suspension notifications, text notification mode and better interactions with the UI while in Gaming Mode. You can check out the complete changelog below:
