GD55 is a great handset. It's the world's SMALLEST and is very cute. I wish I had bougt the color version. The display area is very small. But notwithstanding that, it is adorable. It has all basic minimum features although it is so very unbelievably tiny. I used in 3 countries other than India and it works great. Over and above all this, the handset is very sturdy. Once I fell down and the display got broken. Even then it worked although i could not see much on the screen. What is great it that it could get fixed with the screen set replaced. Then on another occasion, I took it on a rainy treck but forgot to adequately protect it in plastic sheet. It stopped working for 4 long years. Just two days back, a very very talented technician at a Panasonic show room got it fixed for me only for a few rupees. What is amazing is that the technician was very confident about fixing it even before examining the handset based only on the verbal description given about its malfunctioning. I have been a brand loyalist for almost all Panasonic products based on my experience. The recent repair of GD55 has enhanced my respect all the more for Panasonic. Viva Panasonic and its great technician team.God bless this particular technician who got my cute little GD55 out of comma!

You need to go online and get several wired earpieces. I bough three of them and would not use this phone without it. Just wrap the wire around the phone and then unwrap when you go to use it.
I get dizzy when I used this phone. Likewise, there is also this "numb" feeling on the side of my head on which I am using this phone when talking to someone. Anyone else experience this?
this phone is very delicate as i cracked mine last month i bwt a n95 instead i miss that fone
I still use my GD55 as it is the most reliable user friendly phone. Ver loud, good signal strength, petite, an attention grabber. I had the GD50, the updated version, and it was not as good. There are still new GD55s in the far east somewhere. Get one
The GD55 has been superceded by the GD50, a color display phone of similar design.
