I am using this one for the last one year. For me its ok, but the phone has got disadvantages than advatages. We have to "jump" on the keypad to do some typing.... Aslo, sms memory is very low... after receiving few smss, its shows "Memory full". Battery back up also not so good. The keypad coating/printing is of very low quality and the letters gets erased soon. Spares (case, keypad etc.) are not avilable anywhere. If you are planning to buy it... Please don't buy it.

In Malaysia,FYI,its only RM299 without registration. This means the hardore poor people can now own a brand new colour phone without paying for an arm and a leg. Good Job Philips!!!

I got phillips 162 as my first phone and i like at him cause the design is great the colors aaceptable and the battery very good.Even if is simple and dont have too many options.But i love it...i will keep him more

- supports: midi, jpeg, gif, bmp;
- compact;
- battery up to 7 days on stand by
This phones bad issues:
- writing SMS it's a real chalange because you have to push buttons very hard;
- no advanced functions are included;
- you cannot turn off sound when you play a game.
It is a best buy option for users with basic needs.

the 162 is only one good model in philips.
but no ring tone downloding option& COMPOSER.to compare nokia rate is high.
nokia 2600 rate is 3800/-. 162 is 3790/-.
service center perfamance is very very very very very very very very very poor at coimbatore,tamilnadu,india.
