I have one since January '05, and i've get this :
after 1 month
- i love this phone, with 1000 picture from phone's camera, i can share it with other
- i like phone's ringtone, it's loud & clearly
after three months
- No Sound for incoming sms
- Low batterai, "long time for charge - short time for talk"
- while receiving phone, i must stay in place, if not, i cann't hear voice from other
- after reveived phone, my ponsel is 'dead', i must turn off/on again
after 6 month
- It's Realy "dead", but I can claim for 'warranty', and i must wait for 2 month for this service
after 10 month
- the keypad is not function at all except ON/OFF
So, i suggest not choice this phone, U can choose another type from Philips.

i have one since february and until now it caused me a lot of troubles.i had problems with my display,i took it to a sevice and now i have reception problems.except for this is a good phone(:))))).

I HATE IT!!!!!
i got it in dec 2004 for its design, that is indeed beautiful, but it NEVER has any reception...anywhere(i used it in Canada and Russia)...u cant use it...there is some problem with internet, its scratches easily, i have to restart it at least 2ce a day bc something randomly goes wrong, and after 10 months of use it almost is falling apart + the fact that it opens 180 degrees is useless...cuz to talk u have to hold it in a normal cell phone position...im definitely gonna change it...

i just get a new 855 and im wondering does anybody have a program to encode it ?
i didnt have a usb cable for that can i encode trough infra ????

I plant today to by the fone , but i read that the pfhone are not so good? What especialy is not so good?? becaus the voting results are very good..?! i don't understand...

I have a philips855.Is quite good the phono and u don't get bored of it too soon but it may have a few problems..if it has,just get out the battery and put it again...k?! :) It's a good phone

I have Philips 855. The design is good. But I am very dissapointed with the quality of the phone. The flexible cable is easily ruined due to the 180 degree clamshell design. I have the same problems several times and what the service center do is only changing the flexible cable. But the problem will still come in few months. It's very terrible problem. I won't spend my money more for Philips mobile.

minn I had problem with my 855 with signal now is ok.If you opening rear covers one more and then one more on the rear side is signal point and then put out from the connector you must open your phone and put it back I make it alone but you need know something about electric because you can destroy your phone.

I have an 855, I enjoy the design and it works quite decent. But the case broke, and I have to change it. Does anyone know a link or has the service manual?

My phone rings to a very low level inspide the fact it is set to HIGH. and, more, I can hear in hands free only if I put it on my ear.
What can you tell me?

Can anybody tell me how to use the IRDA? i tried to sent pics and ringtone, but unsuccessful... And i also cannot activate my GPRS...

I have problem with my philips mobile phone that the signal very low, I already changed the sim card in another mobile phone it was full signal but when i installed in the Philips 855 model phone it was very weak and all the call failed.
pls. I need technical support urgently.

Can someone tell me plz if I can modify the software (flash, firmware etc.) using IRDA or the datacable??? If it can then could anyone provide the software for flashing?? Anyone has schematics of datacable? plz help..tanx in advance

Btw this phone sucks big time ... Kidding m8's ... i wanna know how i can use the Irda with him still not haveing any problems with him , yet ... i hope i wont get any ,but.. i wanna know if all Irda are compatible with him.. Btw Orange Romania sucks :P

I bought this phone 5 months ago then keypad hangs and it has been 1.5 months in the philips service center in Jakarta waiting for new machine...

Hey I bought such a phone from Orange Romania too about 2 weeks ago,at first it had several problems but still it's the best phone ever!Now it's working and I am quite proud of this choice!I love my new phone!
