Pocophone Xiaomi Android

Since its release nearly two years ago, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has remained one of the most popular phones among those who wanted flagship-grade hardware at a midrange pricetag. The POCO craze was in full effect with just one phone release which led many to wonder why Xiaomi is so hesitant to release a successor to the F1.

In a new development, Xiaomi India CEO Manu Kumar Jain confirmed that the POCO brand is now independent of Xiaomi and will operate on its own from now on.

Excited to share: #POCO will now be an independent brand!

What started as a sub-brand within Xiaomi, has grown into its own identity. POCO F1 was an incredibly popular phone. We feel the time is right to let POCO operate on its own.

Join me in wishing @IndiaPOCO all the best.

Recently, we came across a trademark application for the Pocophone F2 which again sparked the interest of fans. Prior to that, Pocophone global head Alvin Tse teased there’s more to come from the brand’s pipeline in 2020 which is likely a successor to the F1. Now that the brand is interdependent, the mythical POCO F2 should finally make its long-awaited debut.

I'm not so sure about F1 being the "best phone of 2018." I guess a lot comes down to what one finds important. I found F1 to be reeeally chunky, the super-wide notch made the front ugly, it didn't have NFC and the camera was merely so and so (n...

Irrelevant. You aren't buying 15 models but 1. So xiaoweioppo can release 5-6 models per year not 25 each. Also, if you can't afford a good phone, maybe you don't need one. It's a luxury.
