I've updated two of my A1 phones to Marshmallow. They both are working fine.
However, I experienced a strange phenomenon which is that another of my friends phone didn't received this update.
We went to the shop where we had bought the phone and bargained it with a new phone, assuming some kind of fault in the phone. Unfortunately, that phone didn't received this update as yet.
The strange thing is that it didn't received the standard 5.1 to 5.1.1 update too. We can only wonder...

It is very well optimized device. Excelent device in its price group. I will recommend this device if you are looking for something reasonable in low price range.

My Review and Experience with Qmobile A1 Android One model sprout8.
1. phone is good for apps works with no lag.
2. battery below average, it is replaceable but sadly Qmobile dont sell spares battery so you have to buy Chinese Low Quality replica battery which become useless after 2 months.
3. Camera is very bad in photo and video, especially in low light. Font Camera pics are 90% times blur when taken.
if you need better camera buy a point and shoot camera with replaceable AA rechargeable cells for PKR 8,000-9,000 along with his QMobile A1 and save money. Or just buy Samsung S4.

All participant companies will have to follow these standards (and they are). Almost every device is manufactured under some rules and regulations, so they must be quiet satisfactory in terms of hardware and OS.
Almost all major and major local device manufacturers are partners of Android One program. From Pakistan QMobile is partner in this program and A1 is their first Android One series device.
Wait for more Android One devices and then choose.

It is the issue of Android 4.4 and 5 that you can't edit any document on SD card so I think file manager is unable to move files on SD card.

As this is the phone with pure android and have no pre installed lot of (useless) applications.
Benefit of this phone will Google will update this phone to the newer version of Android soon in future to android M.
