Realme Android

Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will make an official appearance on August 20, with quad-camera setup with a 48 MP main shooter.

Madhav Sheth, the CEO of Realme India, said today the company is bringing next week “the world’s 1st quad camera smartphone under 10k”, effectively confirming the price of the Realme 5. The new phone will clearly match the launch price tag of its predecessors at INR9,999.

Some achievements on our technology journey
A. 1st to bring 48MP Quad camera smartphone in India
B. World’s 1st Quad camera smartphone under 10k 1st in India
C. Powerful Qualcomm chipset 1st time ever launching in India

The tweet from Sheth is a fine art of cherry-picking, but it also confirms that a new chipset will arrive for the first time in the country with the new phones.

We don’t have an official confirmation what the actual SoC is, but Geekbench reported yesterday an RMX1911 unit with Snapdragon 665 and 4 GB RAM.

Currently, only the Xiaomi Mi A3 has this chip, but it will appear in India a few days after the Realme launch.

For those thinking that the 665 is mediocre, think again, because its far from mediocre. The 665 is just an extension of the 660. It uses lower clocks(2.0GHz vs 2.2GHz on the 660), and a lower process node(11nm vs 14nm), thus giving almost 40% batter...
