Renders and specs for Motorola Razr 60 point to smaller inner display, higher IP rating

Motorola Android Rumors

There have been plenty of leaks surrounding the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, now here is a detailed report for the vanilla model. Renders show it in three colorways: Pantone Gibraltar Sea (with a “nylon-inspired” texture), Pantone Lightest Sky (with an acetate finish) and Spring Bud.

The collaboration between Motorola and Pantone continues with the Pantone-validated P-OLED HDR10+ foldable display inside the Motorola Razr 60.

Interestingly, it will be a smaller 6.7” panel, down from 6.9” on the Razr 50 and 40. As far as we know, the Ultra will stick with a 6.9” display, so the two Razr variants will be further differentiated.

We don’t have exact measurements for the vanilla Razr 60, but the smaller display should indicate a more compact device. Does that mean a smaller cover display? Maybe, there are no details on that yet (the Razr 50 had a 3.6” display, the 50 Ultra a 4.0” one).

Motorola has reportedly managed to improve the durability of the Razr. If the rumor is true, the Razr 60 will be the first non-Samsung to be rated IP48. The “4” is important as it indicates protection against small particles (but not as small as dust). Also, the 6.7” inner display will be able to detect touches even when wet.

While the Razr 60 might be more petite than the 50, it will have a slightly larger 4,500mAh battery (vs. 4,200mAh on the old model), while maintaining the 30W charge rate (wireless charging details TBD).

Unfortunately, Motorola hasn’t done much to improve the performance of the phone – the Razr 60 is expected to use the Dimensity 7400X, which is a near carbon copy of the 7300X inside the Razr 50. The chipset will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and up to 512GB of storage, so little seems to have changed on that front.

Details on the camera are sparse, but it seems that Motorola will stick with the same basic setup – a 50MP main with OIS (the new sensor will allegedly have better low-light performance) and an improved ultra-wide camera (resolution unknown). The selfie camera inside will have a 32MP sensor.

The Razr 50 series launched in late June, so we may be two months away from the arrival of the Razr 60 series. We should get a clearer picture in the coming weeks.
