Got my mum an Xperia Z tablet and official Sony dock because a) No cable hassle. b) It's a superb tablet - excellent skin on Android keeps things simple. c) Waterproof so if she does splash something on it, no problem. d) Great display and responsiveness - despite mid range cpu. e) Looks lovely in the typical understated Sony way. f) Makes a superb digital photo frame when docked, powered by Google+ photos.
AnonD-105173, 08 Dec 2013What about the Tab3 10.1??That tablet is overpriced crap it has poor 3mp camera, bas resolution, and dualcore processor
The Asus Transformer Book T100 is also a good choice if you are looking for a WiFi only 10-inches Windows tablet. It is value for money, especially since the keyboard dock is included in the package. Windows 8.1 and the new Intel Bay Trail chip make a good combination too.
Not one mention about the Playbook! The 64gb version is amazingly cheap, and has a really nice and simple interface. If you're not into apps and just want something to check emails and watch the odd movie the playbook is a really good performer.
I wish for a tablet like this: 10 inch, 1280x800, no camera, no microphone, no 3G, no GPS, fast quad core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, KitKat, good stereo speakers. Please, China, make it happen!

I wonder why GPlay support is such a big deal on the Kindles. You don't get updates through GPlay, but you can still sideload any app you want!
