Any Android device that that now does not have at least 1.5GB Ram, and 8-16 GB internal memory, plus expansion slot, is doomed to the rubbish bin. Regardless of brand, dont waste your money on a device with such an early built in drop dead date.
Sony Xperia Z1 Mini, HTC One Two Mini, Samsung midrange phones also coming in 2014
It's about time smartphones become commoditised and profit margin comes back down to earth. Why do you think Samsung and Apple have billions in cash?
3rd World Techie, 23 Dec 2013are you having a laugh? what other phone in this price range has similar specs and 2 GB RAM? no think he means 2gb space
Paid £74 new :) for the 8GB version as this is enough for a work/nightout phone, unlocked it as it was on Tesco Mobile & put the stock UK firmware on it, tell nothing come close this side of £200 to the Motorola Moto G, only slightly slower the a Samsung Galaxy S3 & slightly quicker than a Nexus 4.
Those in the market for a cheap Android mobile, this is the one to get period!!!! forget the others midrange smartphones from Samsung ect they way overpriced & underpowered.
Motorola has set a new benchmark with the Moto G, it's now upto the others to catch up and offer something better.
Anonymous, 22 Dec 2013I hope they release a 2gb version this is way too expensive are you having a laugh? what other phone in this price range has similar specs and 2 GB RAM?

Miracast : present or not ?
Hope it will priced under 12k in India
Project butter and now KitKat.. i hope Android gets smooth.
I was blown away by the phones performance and as I am an apple user (5S) I bought this cuz it was cheaper then even the iPod touch! And it was faster then my iPhone 4S! A tad bit slower then the 5/5C but once KitKat lands on the device it would be as fast as the 5/5C or even faster:)
heart robber, 15 Dec 2013I heard somewhere that the moto g has a laggy performance. Is this true or not?? dude didn't you read what i said about Moto G? didn't you read all the reviews or watched videos of the phone?
where did you read it is laggy? it ISN'T laggy at all! this phone is really smooth and i belive it will be even better with Kitkat!
i participate on 2 forums about the Moto G (Android Central and Adrenaline) and basically all the users love the phone and say it has an amazing performance for its price! and this are ACTUAL USERS speaking!
it might only seem a tiny bit laggy compared to a flagship, but again, this phone excels at its price range, and you won't find anything better for 199 dólars (at least not yet)!
Moto G is my daily driver and honestly, it hasn't disappointed me yet on performance!
Stan, 14 Dec 2013Xperia M is at least 6 mm shorter, 2 mm thinner and 3 mm narrower, i have both phones and that... moreYeah I noticed on the spec sheet! What would you say is the best 4inch android other than the M?

Moto G has way better specs though

i am a proud Moto G owner and what i have to say is: you CAN'T ask for anything better at this price range!
the screen is superb! very crisp, colors are beautiful and even in low brightness, it is still pretty damn bright! because it's an IPS LCD screen, viewing angles are wide! the screen is just the best you can get at this price point, it DOESEN'T feel at all you are holding a cheap phone!
design and build are also really good! i like the simple clean design, the shells feel strong (i have Colors Edition) and it's a really fun bonus you can swap covers as you like! also because of the ergonomics, the phone feels rly comfortable while holding!
performance wise, i found no lags, hiccups or freezing so far! already did multi-tasking with like 8-10 apps, going from one to another as fast as phones that are more expensive! games like Dead Trigger 2 run smoothly even with high settings! and performance will be EVEN better when Kitkat arrives, since it is optimized even for 512Mb ram!
i had some issues browsing the web with Chrome...but i believe this is an app issue, because Dolphin is butter smooth!
the only downside i see is the camera, that could be a lot better but, for whatever reason, Motorola gave us that poor and simple software lol but again, at this price range, still delivers images good enough for social use!
i rly don't see HOW pplz can complain and ask for more at this price range '-' if you want something better, then go and pay for something better! don't just expect a $179 (8GB) - $199 (16GB) to deliver the same as a flagship phone or more expensive phones!
and i'm speaking as a Moto G OWNER!
so go on and bash as much as you like with all this nonsense, i know this is a great phone that delivers an experience others can't at this price range!
[deleted post]Sounds like a faulty speaker - normally distortion and crackling comes with loudness - had a similar experience in my live walkman - now thats a loud phone!
