Anonymous, 21 Dec 2013Hello ethereal, I'm also a note2 user planning to move to 1520. I've some questions please ... moreHi, sure, that's my pleasure :) Please keep watching this space - I'll do that soon for you.
best screen in the sun light
AnonD-80613, 21 Dec 2013HI Tech.CHEF. Can your note 3 beat 107H battery endurance test? I think you need to use p... moreOh yeah! If note was suppose to handle only those cartoonish useless tiles, it would have given an 1000h of endurance! Note 3 is note 3. Just any 6" phone running sd800 will never match its glory!
ohh yeeeh... this is why i and people like me love NOKIA and are die hard nokia fans.. i mean look at that battery test ..woooh.. blew everyother phone with 107hrs standby..that too if you use it for 1hr talking vedio and browsing.......what if it is not used and left for ?? i bet after knowing what this GODFATHER of all PHONES did all other companies are going to install huge batteries just to matchup what NOKIA LUMIA 1520 did.. ALL HAIL NOKIA ..and ALL HAIL NOKIA LUMIA 1520... after selling my nokia 808 pureview this was the phone i was waiting for ..looking forward to it !!
This is an Excellent review but in Main disadvantages
"Screen has average sunlight legibility" but this is the phone which has the best Screen in the Market.
"Non-user-replaceable battery" for this i don't think its a problem because battery can be used for long long time, so its ok.
"No system-wide file manager" this is a problem but the next update will give you file manager.
"No lock screen shortcuts" this not important as far as Windows Phone notification and live times are there. I will say this is the Best Smart Phone in the market.
N1520 it seem like a solid phone. Btw can someone compare the bezel of N1520 to Sony Z ultra bezel, I think there is not much of difference, but why GSMArena and most people keep on slagging of Sony with bezel aspect only, yes large bezel is not as pretty but hey it is not a deal breaker, plus what is the bezel for Nokia phone, I want to know.
excellent article gsmarena !! you continue to outdo yourself ! you have the most in-depth and well-made but the least biased reviews in this technological quagmire.
hope you continue to excel in what you do i.e. writing impeccable phone reviews !
Display, looks like that window which has no "Display Drivers" its horrible
AnonD-157380, 21 Dec 2013GSMArena, cvan you please stop making us cry everytime we read a lumia review??I also felt the same way! Anyway, I'll make my Lumia 1520 last for at least two years until Nokia is given the permission to produce Nokia-branded phones again (especially the Lumia series).
I didn't also know that it has the most phenomenal battery life among smartphones today! But I think the 107h rating can only be achieved by removing the Glance feature and Tap To Wake feature. With those, I think it will only be around 65-75h.
MdN8, 20 Dec 2013WP8 has nothing but widgets on the home screen. They just have a different name, "live ti... moreWrong widgets are far more functional, unobstrusive, and beautiful.Live tiles are ugly, cartoonish and obstrusive.
GSMArena, cvan you please stop making us cry everytime we read a lumia review??

I'm also a note2 user planning to move to 1520. I've some questions please answer them :
1. How is the headphone audio quality compared to note2.
2. How is the headphone audio loudness ? Compared to note 2 ?
I like everything that 1520 offers. But want to know the headphobe audio quality more as gsmarena says audio is little distorted and only above average.
A comparison to note2 would give a better perspective.
Also if you are running a graphic intensive gane for 30 mins is any portion (top, bottom, middle) of the phone :
Uncomfotably hot ?
Thanks in advance....
AnonD-80613, 21 Dec 2013HI Tech.CHEF. Can your note 3 beat 107H battery endurance test? I think you need to use p... morei dont need a power bank, i just buy extra battery kit for note 3, guess what now i never get my phone hook on wall jack... lol
And for the trolls asking for a comparison between 520 and 1520, my kind advice first go compare 520 with an s4 or note3 then come back and express how the ride was ;) For the record, I own both the s4 and note2.
The good news is although the battery is whooping 3400mah, and also the store guys were little doubtful if my existing charging plate (purchased for l920) could charge the device fully overnight - it amazingly just did and did only under 3-4 hours I guess!!
Edit: a quick tip. Although I have purchased the yellow matte one and this tip is more useful with the glossy constructions, lay a soft cloth or a spare hanky on top of your charging plate before you place your device on the plate. This would ensure that you don't get any scratches in the rear of the device (due to the friction when you place or grab up) the area where the device gets into contact with the plate. I got my glossy l920 scratched so now Im more careful with the l1520. Hope this helps someone.
