Anonymous, 24 Feb 2014They only forked Android into Windows Phone...they are NOT actually running on Android systemAs far as I know it is Android. Forked means they have made changes which result in the interface change. It's very similar to what Amazon did with their kindles, which are also forked versions of Android.

Tbh this is better than I expected. Looks more refined and user friendly than the usual android. Plus its cheap and durable (Y) for Nokia
It takes few days after this Nokia-launcher is hacked and Google Play works with these devices.
condor, 24 Feb 2014Android w/o Google Play ?! Holy crap! For anyone who wants Google play, just in case that you don't know, Samsung, LG, Sony, Acer and others sells phones with Google Play ... so please, DON'T PANIC!
condor, 24 Feb 2014Android w/o Google Play ?! Holy crap! there are numerous 3rd party stores, go download that and use. ever heard about amazon tablets?
Notice how they intentionally didn't say the version of Android that these devices are running?
I am interested to know if Nokia and Microsoft are ever upgrading these devices to latest version of Android.
Based on some sources, it is running 4.1 Jelly Bean.
These devices would run more efficiently had it been launched with the latest Android version (kitkat).
Did Nokia finally jump off the burning platform or is this too little too late?
bezels are annoying though. rest it seems like a cool phone for the price and durable
