HTC for life no matter wht ever the reason they really rock with M8
Z2 is much better choice. Only the screen and front speakers is a fight. Other than that, z2 hands down.
looking at this review, Z2 would be no brainer for me, but boy it's ugly!! hard decision...
man of war, 12 Jun 2014dont agree in display comparison why and on what base you gsmarena say display on one is bette... moreI compare both, Z2 screen is nice and the best ever release by Sony.
But, they is no deny M8 display actually looking better.
I try both and M8 is perform far smoother and better than Z2.
My final decision pick M8 and no regret at all. :)
Please do not list 4K video recording as an advantage!
Everybody knows that, including Sony itself, 4K video is no more than a commercial selling point. Sony has just declared that snapping 4K video more than 4 min is not advised! The processors will heat and close the phone.
Even if its not the case, how can you store those videos if you capture a 15min video??? It could be up to 5GB itself!
And with which gear you're gonna watch? With a tiny 1080p phone screen or a standard 1080p television?
So please stop 4K bullshit.
Wow so few comments, people really dont care about the M8. HTC delivered another dead baby.
i take a z2 last weekend is my fist droid, camera, functions, is great but buid qualit is not so good. many reported assembly problem , my z2 come with a display problem .I just see two days ago , a call to my carrier and i go tomorow change it
please htc, make a m9 with 8mp at least and waterproofing certification. it will be instabuy for me and a lot of people.
Built quality is a very valid reason to choose a smartphone.. But when back opens and battery drops out of phone there isn't any permanent damage of the phone and has nothing to do with quality. S3 and S4 had bad built quality but s5 is built very well regardles of the materials used. If I could choose I would always prefer user replacable battery but it is not a must have either.
So these two phones that have GOOD build quality tie against each other, yet the HTC One M8 ties with the Galaxy S 5?
Anonymous, 12 Jun 2014none of them has removable battery,
those phones are not for me...non removable battarry exactly is most important reason that i take m8 over any gadgets with removable battary that in one drop demolition back parts like puzzle toys..
Have been an HTC user for many years but recently switched to sony purely because of the superior 20 meg camera which I wanted to use instead of a stand alone snapper. Must say the results are brilliant but it is such as shame htc Didn't use a higher resolution single lense with the m8 as it would have ticked all boxes and left little room for complaint. Both phones are excellent so long may htc and sony keep pushing the specs up to keep us the consumers happy
none of them has removable battery,
those phones are not for me...
